Graveside

I sang the tune that sealed her casket.
She wore blue; black all the rest.
Blue is all I saw.
The sky leaked and moaned;
I wore black. 1

I wore the ring, too.
It framed her finger - 1936.
"He loved her, you know," they say,
"she loved him, too."
Yes, I do know.
I wear that love.
Tiny diamond, simple band.
Cold, as my hand fists up.
Perfect fit.2

She was radiant, loving and Christ-like.
All the things I want, she was.
They dug and dug until they saw fit
to lower her limp limbs into a hole
and chase her with flowers. 3

I wore the ring.
And I will every day 'til death.

I'm a tad bit confused. I think this poem goes way over my head lol but I'll give it a shot.

The last bit "All the things I want, she was." This was his lover, whom died..that was why the sky leaked and moaned. She was everything to him and more, and now she's gone?

Okay so..I may have gotten that wrong but this is in no way a negative comment and here is my logic...

You managed to write something beautiful...I know that just by reading it..do I understand the lyrics used..no..but that is because it goes past my natural intelligence(which is hard to do) but I can feel what I'm reading regardless...

If I am right..then yay for me and again, if I'm right..the story is a beautiful way to describe the loss of a loved on. Strong and mature way of saying this is the woman I love and the last line "I wore the ring. And will every day 'til death." is absolutely beautiful and heart warming and tragic all at the same time.

      Actually,

It's a lot more simple. My grandmother's funeral was yesterday; she left her engagement ring to me. Thank you for your comment. I hope you have a good weekend.
