My twin, my best friend, my soulmate; my all of the above. We were and are inseperable. We had a bond unlike any other normal twin siblings - we were bonded by the blood of a vampire, which we aquired in our younger years. It was kinda strange how we came about this way. We were never born vampires. In reality of the vampire realm, we were "reborn" this way. 1
My story begins with my brother, Clyde and I. We once were humans in the 1500s of London, England. The city was begining to change to the rich oranges and reds of the sunsets themselves, and soon after the cheery Christmas sensation followed. For all of London, it became a black Christmas; one that was not so cheery. 2
A rouge vampire was on the loose, transforming innocent citizens on the streets. Their bodies were found dead with the familiar bite wounds - those which the media played up to be a dangerous animal or "witches act." These murders were kept undercover by the local detectives and police, which Clyde and I claim they were vampire hunters in desquise. My brother and I happened to believe in the legends of the bloodsuckers, as our own father was a hunter himself before he, too, was attacked a few years beforehand. The media played pretend so well, they had all of London fooled. These victims of the rogue vampire were locked away immediately in a room full of plump pumpkins. (Pumpkins were popular in the vampire legends to warding them off.) These victims soon were overcome by the dreadful effects of the venom, and were transformed into one of "them." These prisoners had escaped or were eventually killed off. 3
Though Clyde and I felt we knew everything of the vampire realm, we were naiive. We had no disticnt idea what type of life they lead, the habits they aquired, and the challenges they fought. We had no clear idea unitl that damned Christmas Eve, when we were transformed by the rougue vampire, who had not been yet caught. 4
**Note to author: describe transformation**5
The "animal attacks" spread among London like a disease. The attacks became so frequent, that the Black Plague was induced to hide our growing identities. We lived as vampire twin teens until the civil war, when the draft was posted. Clyde's name was plastered on that horrid list, as was mine on the nurse aid list. 6
For a few years time, we lost site of one another. It was a terrible feeling considering we were almost as one being. If he was hurt, I would feel it. It is a natural thing among twins of the human species, vampire transformed or not. Unfortunately, the day of Clyde's death in the war, took me as well. 7
Since we were vampires, we were "reborn" or reincarnated into children. We were to grow up until we reached our tranformation age, of a tender 18. When our kind is "reborn," we have the strange luck of becoming human again as a baby in a mother's womb. We would not remember anything from our vampiric past, unless induced by a traumatic experience resembling that of our transformation. However, we also have the bad luck of staying a vampire, and returning in the body of a child - skipping the entire baby and toddler stages. 8
When Clyde and I were "reborn," things went a little differently for us. As twins, we were reborn at the same time and place. He was kept a vampire, while I was reborn human. I was born as a child, as he was. We knew this wasn't supposed to happen this way; I being human, and he being vampire, though we couldn't change anything about it. Our first few weeks in our new bodies was hard to adjust to. Any papercuts or splinters I had grown accustomed to, hurt like hell, unlike when I was indestructable. And now because I was human, my brother could not feel my pain anymore. 9
Life for Clyde was also harder. My blood was the richest he could smell everywhere we went, since our blood was of a royal family, back in the 1500s. We shared the same blood, vampire or not.10
