Red Sword of Mars Part 1

A flash of light had engulfed the forest and bathed it in a cool, mint green light. The trees were bathed in light, cool and green light. The most impressive part of the forest was the massive dragon statue, though they called it the sleeping dragon. It was bathed in gentle mint green light, and cracks had appeared in the dragon's grey crust. It seemed the flash of light was awakening the sleeping dragon, but most dismissed the idea as complete fantasy. But there wasn't anything out of grasp from real life- not in Fantasia.1

Tohko was resting in her old gardener's greenhouse, although the rain made a terrible racket. Sky, Tohko's child griffin, paced the room. Tohko slept until half six in the morning, though it was quarter to nine now! Sky growled softly and she burst out of the greenhouse for her morning exercises. She did violent loop-de-loops, leaving a trail of feathers in the sky. Yurika, Tohko's swordswoman sister, stepped out with Chi, her chimera. 2

"Where's Tohko?" Yurika asked, extending her arm for a bit of swordsmanship magic. 3

"Still sleeping," Sky said. The rain was battering the greenhouse now, and Yurika thrust her hand up into the air and the rain stopped. 4

"Well.. It's cause she killed my James!!!!" a girl came out of nowhere screamed, wielding the legendary Red Sword of Mars...
