der Mauer

“Who built ‘The Wall’, father?”1

“The Old Ones.”2

“When?”3

“Long, long ago, son.”4

“Why?”5

“We don’t know.”6

“How tall is it?”7

“No one knows.”8

“How come?”9

“Because no one has ever been able to climb to the top.”10

“Oh. Then, father, how long is it?”11

“We don’t know?”12

“Why?”13

“Because no one has ever found the end.”14

“Why?”15

“Because it would take more than one individual’s lifetime, and life is too short to spend it all trying to find the end.”16

“What is on the other side of The Wall?”17

“No one knows.”18

“Why?”19

“Because no one has ever been there. Now hush. I hear one of the gods coming. If we are good they might drop some gift from heaven.”20

*21

“Hey. Joe, this garbage can is full maggots.”22

OK. Spray some insecticide in and then put in the bag. We’ve got to put bags in all the cans in the park before lunch.”23

“OK. Done. Next.” 24

Ahhh..life is all about perspective. This is a humorous view of one of life's realities. The walls are everywhere - even in our imaginations.

    I did enjoy this one!

      G'Day AntiC.
Got any snow up there in Canada yet?
Thanks for reading this little bit of minmalist satire. It really is about maggots, and not a comment on the human condition, though. So don't put too much INFP angst into it, OK?

Bahahaha, while it may seem the INFP stereotype is to be angsty, that's not the case with those who've developed their other aspects & I got the satire; & whether or not it was about maggots, or chickens, or corpses, or human life, it still says a lot about humans & even about walls. Great insight, still. & by the way, don't put too much mental orientation into emotions, okay? It doesn't work well
