Fuzzyheart's weekend thoughts - Episode 1

Welcome readers! this is the first in a series i will be posting every weekend. Every week I will discuss a topic of intrest to me, as well as my own oppinions, i will try to include factual information and other points of view.1

a final note: THESE ARE NOT RANTS! (is that enough tom?) 2

The effects of the internet3

Have you ever noticed how the internet can turn a completely reasonable person into a complete idiot? i'm not talking about the old wives tales of "computers rot your brain," as we all know that the internet is a briliant resource for education.4

(RANT WARNING!) 5

What i'm talking about is how annoying some people become when using the internet. A prime example of this is my friend Tom (The Ranter) in RL he's a great friend, but on the internet he becomes a jerk, as you all know he writes all these rants, that are predjudiced, insulting and rude, and he also has a superiority complex, when people complain about this, he insults them and claims it was "satire" 6

Dictionary.Com definition of "satire":7

"–noun
1.the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc.
2.a literary composition, in verse or prose, in which human folly and vice are held up to scorn, derision, or ridicule.
3.a literary genre comprising such compositions."
Although this does justify SOME of the content of his rants, this exuse dosen't allow for the insulting of others or putting himself above others. Unless I give examples here, he will just pull of the same stunt as always.
For example, when I told him about this series, he demmanded that i put a disclamer "I am not ripping you off" or otherwise "I couldn't do it". Another prime example of this is the "clary affair" you all know what i'm talking about - he attacked someone for writing a rant, made two half-hearted attempts to appologise, gave up and called her an idiot.
(RANT OVER)
Another example of the way the internet reduces the intelegence of someone to the level of a monkey, is the relentless desire some people have for internet fame. Websites like youtube and blogger are perfect opportunities for these kind of people, it allows them to make there rubbish available to the world and makes them think people care about them. The irony of this is that this series is my own attempt at internet fame.
Conclusion: The internet is great, but it is populated with idiots
That's all folks! See you next week!

  • I haven't been on for ages so I'm just catching up... hang on, did you just say something about a monkey's intelligence?! Monkey's are very intelligent, thank you very much!

    Alright

I think this was really interesting. Something that I would change would be to either choose to capitalize your eyes, or not capitalize them. Sometimes you use "i" and other times "I". or "I'm" and "i'm". I think for consistency stick to one or the other for the whole entry.

Possible topics: Celebrities, learning about post-modernism (what is that exactly anyways?), or girls

Upon reading this, I realised that you WERE ranting

Also, I'll have to put this another way:

    TheRanter is a CHARACTER!
