Two Weeks After (Part 2)

Maybe it was the need for a vacation, or the idea of running away from the fact she's pregnant, Michelle asked a family member to book her flight to Germany, where of course, she had family.  She wanted to forget everything, and in reality, she wanted everyone to forget about one mistake that she made in getting pregnant. After spending a little over a month in Germany she decided it was time to go home. Not really knowing how many people will react she decided to make it official and tell her family members, all of them. Needless to say, a lot weren’t very good at hiding disappointment.1

“Michelle, you of all people,” she heard her grandma start to say.2

“Mom, I think she's gotten enough of that from us, lets not make it any harder.” Her father interrupted.3

Every now and then throughout her pregnancy Michelle wanted someone to turn to, someone to be there for her, and every now and then unconsciously she would pick up the phone to call Chris, only to realize, he wasn't there to answer her. She decided she needed to focus on life and the fact she has a baby in her that needed her to survive, and who is she to deny this child life?4

Going to the doctor appointments, and being looked at as a typical statistic, she didn’t want to be that, so she made a promise to herself and to a friend, to at least get her GED and start towards her own goal, whatever that may be.5

Soon enough all her friends were back to normal, everyone was so supportive that it overwhelmed her, she was happy, finally, happy. Now this is a change in the right direction, she thought to herself.6

“Earth to Shell, hello, what the heck are you thinking about?” Her friend asked7

“Oh,” and she started to laugh “nothing really, I just zoned out there I guess.”8

“Well, when do you find out what you're having?” 9

“I still think it’s a little early, I mean I'm not that far along, it’s only been like what 3 months?”10

“Yeah, well you go to find out I want to go with you alright?”11

“Who said I wanted to find out?” She said trying not to laugh.12

“Well, I want to find out!” With that the two friends got up and walked towards the house together.13
