The Blooded Knife-chapter 4

He looked at her with pain in his sea green eyes. "I lay on that floor for at least a day, bleeding from a gash on my head. I stared at the door hoping that someone would come help me. I knew I would bleed out if no one did. I saw a dark shape enter the open doorway and I remember it hovering over me but all of a sudden it wasn't a black shape. It was a man bending over me 'So long.' he said and then he grabbed my wrist and licked his lips. He brought my wrist closer to his mouth and I thought he was going to kiss it until he smiled at me and I could see his canines were at least an inch long. Then he sank his canines into my wrist. It was pain, no, pain is not a strong enough word, no English word is strong enough to explain it. It was worse the Sasha's betrayal, but not by much."1

"I changed. My reality changed. My body changed and my senses changed. I didn't bleed and I didn't need to eat or drink all I wanted was blood."2

Emily slowly started to edge away from him. He noticed and smiled at her sadly. "Don't worry about that, you for one are never going to bleed again."3
