Daddy's little girl1
Hung close behind his side,2
Her little fingers curled3
Inside his hands to hide4
Her precious little fears5
And the worries in her life,6
Her tender loving feelings,7
Her sorrow and her strife.8
9
Daddy's little girl10
Took one step at a time,11
Her small feet placed to fit12
Beside the giant strides.13
Those calming confident steps14
Slowed her heartbeat down;15
She skipped her way through 16
Life without looking back or down.17
18
Then Daddy's little girl19
Crossed the busy street;20
Her life grew out before her,21
Until she skipped a beat22
For no longer Daddy's girl,23
She walked right down the aisle,24
Her father walking with her25
Until he gave her up with one last smile.26
