Alternative to Suicide

In your final moments,
what words did you hear?
In your final minutes
What things did you fear?
With that gun to your head,
The finger on the trigger,
The gun in the hands of a friend,
The effect couldn't be much bigger.
Was it sweet release for you,
Or just a quick dying end?
I don't care to discover it
For I have my own path to descend.
My tools for release
Consist of a different brand
Than that of a machine
A different idea, I have planned.
The metal will scorch,
The skin will blister up
More fluid to toss in,
More time to leak scarlet blood.
A sweeter release than ever found
Amongst an abrupt termination--
That chance to end a lifetime
The inconvenience-- my only salvation.
Let the blade taste the blood,
Devour it ruthlessly
To avoid the horrific alternative,
Don't you agree?
For I get to continue on
I can still hear another day
I can still keep on loving,
I can still fear anyway....
