I walked in through the door of my house and headed straight upstairs.1
“You’re home early…” My mom remarked.2
“Well the last time I wasn’t, I ended up having no plans for the weekend.” I snapped at her and winced right after. I didn’t want to take my anger out on her or anyone which is why I went to lock myself in my room.3
It was a moment of DeJavu as I threw myself on my bed without taking off the same outfit I‘d worn to Black Lace. At that moment I didn’t mind being grounded for the weekend. I don’t think I would have been up for shopping with Shelby. By now, it was totally pointless denying the fact that Blake was definitely no ordinary guy. In a matter of minutes I drifted off to sleep.4
...................................................................5
The hall echoed with angry shouts of protest as the two beings stood trembling in each other’s arms.6
“You have to go.” The blonde beautiful lady from my earlier vision said. “There’s still a chance of mercy for me, but you… you’re a demon there’s no telling what they’ll do…”7
“Sarah” The black-robed replica of Blake silenced her. “You know there’s no way I’m leaving you.”8
“But you have to-”9
“No!” He muttered stubbornly. “If we’re going down we will do it together.”10
By now her greens eyes were welled with unshed tears. “But-”11
“We will find a way to be together again” He said running a hand down her pale cheek. “I promise.”12
By then, the doors had flown open and the clouds of black smoke and white clouds filtered through and occupied the entire hall. Angels and Demons. They roared in anger and disgust at the forbidden union at the of the two. Both Angelic and Demonic beings glared menacingly as they surrounded them.13
In a desperate attempt to take advantage of the little time they had together, the demonic replica of Blake pulled Sarah into his arms for one last kiss. Just as their lips brushed, they were pried from each other’s arms by the beings that surrounded them and Sarah’s heart shattered at the loud broken “NOO!” that escaped Blake’s lips. She felt a stinging pain in her heart at the separation. Overwhelmed with pain and fear, she let tears fall freely from her eyes.14
...................................................................15
I sat up in my bed with a sob. That strange dream left me so distraught and… heart-broken. Why did tears linger at my eyes? It was like the pain of the lady in my dream was also mine. I felt the most unexplainable emptiness and loneliness. As I sat in bed trying to figure out what the hell was going on, I heard small sharp clicks of something being tossed at the glass of my window. I got up to lift up the window sill just in time to let little rock in to hit me on the fore-head. I let out a squeal as I shrunk back.16
“Sorry!” said a familiar raspy voice in a hushed tone. I swiftly jerked my head out my window to find Blake standing awkwardly in my yard still wearing his outfit from the party. At the sight of him, the stinging pain in my chest that was brought on by the strange dream, instantly subsided. I was so happy to see him that I considered jumping out the window. Acting completely on impulse, I ran down stairs and let myself out the back and flung my arms round him when I reached the yard.17
“I thought you were gone forever!” I whined with my head buried in his chest. At that instant, my senses returned and I slowly backed away from him, completely blank as to what just happened.18
I looked up at his tanned face in search of answers. In the dimly lit darkness of the yard I could see that his coffee-coloured gaze remained un-phased. The corners of his lips were slightly turned up. There was that knowing hint in his eyes again. “I’m guessing you had another vision.”19
“More like a dream…” I kept backing away from him as I lifted my hands to my forehead. “It was… like a continuation of the vision I had before.”20
Realizing how crazy I sounded, I looked to him for some sort expression but he remained calm as ever.21
“What’s wrong with me Blake?” I could hear the desperation in my voice. “Earlier you were the last person on earth I wanted to see, and then after that dream… I don’t know… It was as if being away from you was… hell.”22
“It was.” He said calmly. “For both of us.”23
“Will you just tell me what this is all about?” I felt like I was going to faint from confusion.24
“You know what its all about!” He insisted. “You’re just too stubborn to believe it.”25
I felt a slow steady rise in my temper. “If you call me stubborn one more time-”26
“The dream.” He stated interrupting my threat. 27
“What?”28
“What did you see in your dream?”29
My brows furrowed as I tried to remember. “Um… well there was this guy and girl they were…”30
“What did they look like?”31
My eyes widened in remembrance and realization. “Us.” It came out as a whisper first. “They looked like us!”32
His lips twisted into a satisfied smirk.33
I slowly edged closer to him. “Blake are you telling me that my dream really happened? That we were past lovers?”34
He nodded.35
I shook my head impulsively. It sounded too crazy. “But… it can’t be.”36
“For a while now you’ve felt somewhat… lost” He said edging closer to me. “Like there’s something missing in your life.”37
I found myself nodding involuntarily. I was filled with excitement at the possibility that someone could actually understand. “Yeah.”38
“Like there’s a missing piece…” like a termite to a bright light, I felt drawn to that knowing glint in his eyes. “and until that missing piece is found you will never be complete.”39
“Exactly!” I cried.40
“Well here I am babe.” He grinned impishly as he spread his arms proudly. “The missing piece.”41
I stared at him. “You sound stupid.” I said mainly out of spite without really meaning it.42
“Do I?” He raised a cocky brow. “Remember how you felt when you first saw me?”43
I could never forget. He sparked such an unbearable curiosity in me, the moment his voice pulled me out my daze in history class and when our eyes met.44
“Vaguely.” I muttered and he rolled his eyes.45
“Yeah right.”46
“How can you possibly know all this?”47
“I felt it too you know, that connection… from before.”48
“You didn‘t answer my question” I insisted trying to ignore the dark smothering gaze he had focused on me “How come all of this is totally new to me when you seem to know so much?”49
“You forgot.” He said in a somewhat soothing voice. “And it’s not totally new, you said it yourself that I seem familiar.”50
“Yeah and that’s about it!” I cried and then winced at the sound of a dog barking from the next yard. “I mean… the rest is a total blur!” I finished in a hushed tone.51
“But it won’t always be a blur Sam.” He said. “you will slowly remember, soon you’ll come to know me like you did before.”52
He smirked cheekily. “And I think that’s already happening judging from the way you threw yourself into my arms earlier.”53
I walked away from him to brace myself on one of the lawn chairs in our yard. “Demons and Angels…” I muttered dizzily as I lowered myself on the lawn chair. “There was something about demons and angels…”54
I heard Blake sigh. “There’s still so much to explain.”55
I groaned as. “There’s more?”56
He came over to join me and I shivered a little when I felt him lightly brush against my skin. “We are re-born lovers… do you think that just happens to normal people?”57
“If I thought so Blake, I wouldn’t be so freaked out right now!” I snapped. I was definitely not in the mood for his sarcastic rhetorical questions.58
He chuckled a bit. “Fair enough. See the reason why we are re-born is because well, we were super-natural beings. We kinda still are.”59
I stared at his face which was now so close to mine. The way is dark eyes bored into my green ones seemed to create some sort of remembrance and understanding in me. “So the dreams… the visions...”60
“Exactly.” Our voices were now intimately low. “A souvenir of our love before. To help you remember.” 61
“Wow!” I exhaled. “I always knew there had to be more to my life… but this… this is incredible!”62
He grinned crookedly. I couldn’t stop my self from thinking how adorable it was “You know, you haven’t changed one bit.”63
“What do you mean?” I smiled curiously.64
“You’re still a people-pleaser, quiet and not very opinionated… the only time you let your true emotions show is when you’re around me.”65
“Oh is that so? Mr Know-it-all?” I felt like I had just been analyzed like some kind of lab experiment.66
“Yeah it is.” He gave a raspy chuckle. “and you still get so worked up over the littlest things I do to get on your nerves… like the earrings incident” 67
I looked away and snorted.68
“See what I mean?” What was it about that cheeky attitude of his that made me furious and yet made my insides all fluttery at the same time?69
“Yes I see that you were a sarcastic and annoying demon.” I glared at him. “Are you sure we were in love?”70
I fought the urge to shudder as he shifted so close to me that our bodies were now touching. 71
“I’m positive.” He whispered. “I was the only one you could really be yourself with and apparently that hasn’t changed.”72
I looked down at my toes and sighed. Anytime I was around Shelby any of my other friends even my parents, I always decided that it was best that I didn’t express what I was feeling and just did what they wanted. I figured it was the best way to avoid any unnecessary conflict. So no matter how badly I wanted to voice the way I felt, I always found a way to compose myself. It was something I was really good at.73
“I can be myself around my sister, Katie.” I muttered after a while. “I don’t hide anything from her.”74
He rolled his eyes and gave wry smile. “Okay so you have a sister you can be yourself with.” I felt his fingers tug lightly at the strands of my hair. “But I’m the guy, you can be yourself with.”75
I could feel warmth in my cheeks and was positive I was turning an interesting shade of red. “Fine!” I exhaled turning to face him. “So now that we’ve established why I was attracted to you, there’s one question left.”76
I looked deeply into his dark eyes until I felt surrounded by his gaze. “What attracted you to me?”77
He shifted uneasily in his seat as his lips twisted into some kind of pout. “See the thing about being re-born is that I always have to repeat myself, always have to reassure you.”78
“And that’s a bad thing?” I asked coldly. “I’m sure its worse than having to remember your entire past love life with a supposed ‘demon’?79
“No actually. For some weird reason… I don‘t mind it.” He looked at me and brought his face so close to mine until we were inches apart. “I like telling you that I fell in love with you because of how selfless you are, how considerate you are and how fun it is to get on your nerves.”80
There was a steady rise of warmth in my cheeks as he drew in closer. I didn't wait for him as I leaned in and kissed him. At that moment everything fell into place. Everything became clearer and it all made sense. Blake was my soul-mate.81
I broke the kiss as I stood and took his hand. Enchantingly discreetly we made our way into my house and upstairs to my bedroom. His kisses made shudder, his hands made me tremble. We eased out of our clothes and celebrated our reunion in my bed.82
"I love you Sarah." He nuzzled my hair as I lay naked in his arms. I 'd never felt so happy in both my life times.83
