"You are one lucky kid."1
She opened her eyes and sat up groggily, no one was around. Then where had the voice come from? 2
She surveyed her surroundings. Why was she in a cave? She must be hallucinating, after all she had lost a lot of blood.3
"No, your not hallucinating. You really are in a cave and _I'm_ not a hallucination either."4
Emily turned around and started. A boy was sitting there. She had been sure that no one was around when she had been checking out her surroundings.5
The boy smiled at her. He had the sharpest teeth she had ever seen.6
He stood and extended his hand to her. "I don't think we've been introduced. I'm Brian." She looked at his proffered hand but did not shake it. She noticed that he had incredibly pale skin, dark brown hair and a straight nose. But what was most striking about his appearance was his eyes, they were sea green and had flecks of gold in them. Suddenly she felt quite inferior. She was decent looking with short brown hair a tall build and brown eyes but she also had gap teeth and a not so nice complexion.7
"Are you going to continue staring at me or tell me your name?"8
She glared at him, he smirked. Yea, he knew he was good looking.9
She narrowed her eyes. "Before I tell you _anything_ your going to tell me how I got here." She demanded. Brian sighed. "Well you won't tell me your name so i guess I'll have to make on up for you." He paused and thought for a second. "I think I'll call you... Sunny."10
"Sunny?!" She sputtered indignantly. "Sunny?! That's a horrible name! And besides, I'm not Sunny at all!"11
"Well maybe after hearing the sunny over and over, you'll decide you want to _be_ sunny and therefore be less angry and suspicious."12
"You still haven't told me how I came to be here." She said coldly. Suddenly a horrible thought popped into her head. "I'm not dead, am I?"13
"No, not dead, though without me you would have been."14
She knew the last thing she had done was slit her wrists so how had he saved her from an almost certain death? "How did you save me." She questioned him suspiciously. He looked at her sadly and said, "I think you'd better sit down for this. It's quite shocking and I know at first you won't believe it but it's the honest to god truth."15
She sat down. He inhaled. "I was born in the year 1947." 16
"That's impossible", She cut in, "it's 2003 you'd be like sixty now."17
"Ya and I would be if things had turned out differently."18
/He's nuts/. She thought, /completely bonkers/.19
"As I was saying before you so politely interrupted me that I was born in the year 1947. I had a good life. My father had deserted me and my mother when I was two, but perhaps it was a good thing he did. He was an alcoholic so I don't know how my mother fell in love with him, she was a very sensible woman. Any ways, when I was fifteen I met a girl but she wasn't like any girl I'd ever known, she had the longest blond hair and she used to braid it with elastics. She was the most beautiful thing with baby blue eyes and the most perfect face." Emily scowled but Brian didn't notice. He carried on. "I loved her, I would have done everything and anything for her, so one day I went to her house and she asked me to try some LSD. She told me that we'd have some fun and after the affects wore off we'd have a _real_ good time." Emily looked at him in disgust. "Was it really necessary to tell me that?" Brian glared at her. "Quit interrupting." He snapped.20
She gave in. "Fine, go ahead tell me the rest." He gave her one last glare. "Okay, well, we took some of the acid and that's all I really remember. It must have been a bad trip, so bad that my brain blocked it out. And I'm glad it did. I woke up and it was dark outside and seeing as we'd taken the LSD at eight in the morning I must have been out of it for a while. I sat up in the bed and looked causally around. I felt like laying right back down but I had to find Sasha, that was her name, Sasha, I think I've tried to forget about her but you never forget your first love even if you hate them now."21
"I'm getting ahead of myself. Lets see where was I? Ah yes, I got up to look for Sasha. I searched everywhere but she was no where to be found. Then I heard a noise from the kitchen, I went to go check, there were two guys standing there. They didn't say anything at first but while one held me the other one punched me in the gut and the face and every other part of my anatomy. One guy spit on me and I quote, "Sasha sends her love." and after what felt like five more hours they left, leaving me beaten and bruised on the kitchen floor. My injuries were so bad that I couldn't move. They'd broken both my ankles and arms. But the physical pain was nothing compared to the emotional. Sasha had betrayed me. I didn't know why she'd sent those guys after me and I still don't and it doesn't matter she and I could have talked it over, she could have done that instead of sending two muscle men after me. He sighed. "Now that's the believable part. This next part is a little less easy to swallow."22
