Simply Not A Story

1

I love my friends, I really do. They don't judge you and if they do, they tell you straight-up what they think. They understand or at least try to understand everything. They accept you for who you are and not what you look like. I know if I was upset, I can count on them to make me laugh. They're the kind of friends who you turn to no matter one, the ones who use you as an excuse and ask you about it later - knowing you'll be okay with it. They are so special, unique and pretty much a bunch of awkward misfits.2

They don't bring you down, but build you up. They look out for you and make sure you don't think anything less of yourself. They let you corrupt them and make their minds dirty as hell - they ask you awkward questions knowing you'll answer it as if they were asking you what two times six was. They trust you.3

My friends are the kind who you can bitch with and still manage to break into laughter mid-argument. They don't care if you scream "I love you!" down the hall way, making you sound like lesbians, and if you awkwardly touch their hands or grab their boob - they make a joke of it. They're comfortable around you and are always themselves with you. They make you feel like you can be you, like it's okay to be different. They don't get embarrassed about what you wear and if they do, they keep it to themselves because they know it makes you happy.4

When you go on and on about that boy, no one tells you to shut up because they know that you need to get it out. My friends and I have a million inside jokes and are going to create a kajillion more. They find the same things funny and they can read your mind (sometimes at the very least). You can finish each other's sentences and talk in code. If you ask them what kind of dinosaur they would be, they consider the question honestly.5

They let you raid their fridge, cook meals for you. They write you adorable little notes that make your week complete, they let you cry as your heart breaks, they give you their coat so you don't get cold and they put up with soccer games just so you can drool over the boy you like. They give the best hugs and always bring a smile to your face. You can insult each other and not take it personally. They get vegetarian food so that you can share.6

They love you for some odd reason and every night before you go to bed, you think, 'I am lucky for having friends like them.' I love my friends.
