Dear Mrs Meyer,1
I am afraid that for every twilight fan, there is a twilight hater. Of course, you should know that.2
Now I am not one to bash books, especially those I have not read, but I have heard good things about Twilight. And bad things. And I don't ever want to read it! Or any of the sequels!3
As a fan of reading, I should have picked up this book and given it a go. But after hearing that it was not so great, well I figured it would be a waste of time.4
After reading that you'd written it in three months, I was turned off it even more! How could a full blown novel written in three months by some mormon housewife (no stereotypical offence intended) become such a massive success, when the quality of the writing is below that of even amateur writers who publish their stories on websites such as this?5
The very worst aspect of this Twilight craze, however, is the fact that you've turned these beautiful, demonic creatures of the night into romanticized morons with no brain! Not only that, but you've turned a whole generation of impressionable teenagers trying to find their identities into pathetic saps waiting for this Edward to come and sweep them off their feet! One day they may be fantasising about some dreamy "vampire" to take them away, and perhaps be a little shocked when they find that no, they didn't fall in love, but actually fell victim to a proper blood-sucking vampire and then wonder why they're dying!6
What's more, Bella is quite sad, herself. What kind of a role model is a girl who needs a man, no, a BOY, at an age still with 1 being the first of two digits, to suvive? What kind of role model is a girl who needs to rely on a BOY to find worth and self-respect?7
This new generation obsessed with this romanticized view of vampires probably do not even know what real vampirism is! They're so caught up in their little day dreams of love that they compete to see who is the bigger fan of vampires, when, in fact, none of them are if they have not even heard of Anne Rice!8
Anne Rice, you ask? Who is Anne Rice?9
I'll tell you who!10
Anne Rice is a proper author whose vampire books are actually worth something!11
I'm truly sorry to say that you have ruined vampires for me, and all true appreciaters of blood.12
It's ironic that Twilight is named after the END of day, because the dawn of vampires was started centuries before this mindless trend. Perhaps you've endangered true vampire literature with this Twilight.13
I hope you sleep well at night, because the vampires don't.14
Author notes
I don't think I did my opinion justcice...
I could rant for much longer, but I'm not looking forward to getting heaps of messages saying that I'm a bitch and that I don't know what's good...

I've never read the book, but if it's as bad as you say it is, I guess anyone could become a published author.
I'm glad you think that a girl doesn't need a boy in her life to better herself. I had the same conversation with my teen daughter, and she actually agreed with me. I wish, I thought like that when I was a teen, because being too obsesive over a guy can really mees with your mind set.
Well done.Jules

Yes, well love doesn't have to mean giving up your personality... On the contrary, it's finding someone who would change for you and who you would change for, but not need to!
You're probably thinking "what does a 15 year old know about love?" right? Well...think what you want!
But everyone's gotten into this Twilight craze, even adults, like my friend's 50 year old aunt...and they like it. I would have thought that more mature people with more experience with literature would know better than to praise this... Or better things to read, considering it's most popular with teenage girls and people who like to fantasise romantically.
GO COLLINGWOOD!

Please. You know what you are talking about. Don't let anyone tell you different. Take it from someone who read the stupid books. They are crap and a complete disgrace to the name of vampires. Oh, and this is the first time that I have heard she wrote it in three months. Honestly? It doesn't surprise me. Good for you.

ROFL. Wow i already like you xD!!!!!
True...Bella needs to rot in the fifth layer of hell. Everyone says never to rely on men. Well in NEW MOON she is like going all over the place crying and stuff. im surprised she didnt cutt herself [NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE] Sh almost commited suicide. He comes back and she welcomes him in her arms LIKE NOTHING EVEN HAPPENED. Yes, Anne Rice is a true vampire novelist. Stephenie Meyer is just offensive and needs to take her stupid peewee 'vampire' books an shove them up her apple! (:
Sorry, O.O
Good luck!
~Tristan~
