Evelyn's jaw dropped. Without taking her eyes off the people dancing infront of her she clutched the arm of the person on her left.
"I don't think i can do this" She told the person.
"Of course you can" Kimi said, prising Evelyn's fingers from her arm. "It'll be fun!"
"Fun!" Evelyn exclaimed. "We've come here to flirt with..." She lowered her voice. "Vampires"
"My motto is: live dangerous, die young" Evelyn stared at her. Dying young was not something she wanted to think about right now.
"Couldn't i just wait out in the car?" she asked.1

"Nope" Adam said, jingling the car keys.2

"Believe me, Eve, it's safer in here than it is out there" Kimi told.
"Nowhere's safe anymore" she muttered to herself. 3

"So it seems" Selena sighed glaring at something behind Milo. Coming straight toward them was Jena Hungerford, Endsville's biggest b.i.t.c.h, and when Evelyn looked at her she smiled and waved. "I'm leaving now before the urge to die overwhelms me" Selena said and walked into the sea of dancing teens. 4

"Can't stand her" Milo said and followed Selena. Evelyn sighed. Why the hell did she agree to come to this stupid house party? She looked at Kimi who looked back guiltily.5

"Go on then" Evelyn sighed. Kimi put her hand on her shoulder.
"Try to have fun, babe, sorry about this" She apologized then danced away, her bright pink bunches bouncing about. Evelyn waited for Adam to leave, too.
"Well, are you going then?" She asked when he didn't move. He shook his head. "Why not?"
"because i know you don't like being on your own with queen b.i.t.c.h of America"
"How sweet of you, Adam" Came the voice of the b.i.t.c.h herself. "What did i do to deserve a nickname?"
"Oh believe me, you definately deserve that nickname, Jen" Jena ignored Adam and smiled down at Evelyn as if he hadn't even spoken. Evelyn hated that smiled. It was the kind of smile you could imagine on the face of a person with a chainsaw right before they fire that baby up. 6

"So, Eve, i see you decided to come. And you brought your...housemates, too"7

"Erm, it's Evelyn, only my friends call me Eve" The predator's smile soured around the edges. 8

"Evelyn" Jena smiled. "Wanna come to the v.i.p lounge?"9

"It's not a f.u.c.k.i.n.g nightclub" Adam retorted. She gave him the evil glare of the she-devil. 10

"Eve?"11

"Evelyn" She said from behind gritted teeth 'stop acting like we're friends, b.i.t.c.h' She thought to herself. "And thanks but no thanks, i'm here to have fun with my friends" The smile widened. 12

"Oh, Eve, you will have fun, these guys;" Jena gave Adam a dirty look. "They just need someone to help pay the rent" Adam sighed and rolled his eyes.13

"I..." Evelyn began. Jena slipped her arm through Eve's and began to tow her toward the back of the house. Evelyn looked back at Adam. 14

"Hey!" He called, following them. "b.i.t.c.h, she doesn't wanna go with you" Eve sighed in irritation. Jena wasn't going to take no for an answer.15

"Don't worry, Adam, i'll be back in a minute, go have fun" She told him. 16

"Yeah, Adam, go hang with the other nobodies, you did choose to be with them than with me" She didn't stop or look at him when she said it. Evelyn gave him a small smile and mouthed: "Go, i'll be fine"17

The v.i.p lounge looked just like a club lounge as if it had been made for this party alone. Teenagers were dancing and making out, drinking and shooting up. Every person in the v.i.p lounge was part of the popular crowd, everyone except Eve. She felt unbearably uncomfortable. 18

"I think i'm gonna go find, Adam" she shouted over the music. "I've got a headache, he can drive me home"19

"No, Eve...lyn, stay we've got medicine in the kitchen" Eve gritted her teeth. Jena Hungerford, A.K.A duracell, she just keeps going.20

"Okay" She smiled at Jena sarcastically. 21

"Come and sit" Jena lead her toward a chair amoung a circle of populars, some boys and some girls. She recognized a few from school but alot of the people in the v.i.p lounge were unfamiliar.22

"Hey guys" Jena said cheerfully to the crowd. "This is Eve" Evelyn sat down. "Eve, this is Jake" - a brown haired boy nodded once - "Lola" - a strawberry blonde girl - "Josef" - a muscular mix race boy - "Daniel" - tanned, black hair - "Tony" - mexican boy - "and Hilda" A depressed looking black-dyed hair.23

"Hey" Evelyn said shyly. The crowd grunted in response and a nod here and there. Jena's smile was genuine now, for her friends. 24

"Of course you know the other 4 from school" Which Evelyn did. "Eve..."25

"Has a headache so i'm gonna go get her some pills. Mingle, have fun" She walked in to the crowd toward the kitchen. Suddenly Evelyn didn't mind Jena being around. The 10 people stared at her as if waiting for something. 'oh god, Jena, hurry up!' she thought to herself. 27

"So, Eve, how old are you?" Jake (or so she thought) asked, taking a pull on his cigerette. 28

"Erm, it's Evelyn and i'm, um, 17" She chocked out.29

"Cool" As Jake spoke smoke came out of his nose and mouth. 'Adam, come and get me boy' She thought frantically. 30

"How long you been living in town, Evelyn?" Daniel asked. 31

"About a 2 months"32

"You live with Selena Anderson and Adam Freeman, right?" Evelyn nodded. 33

"Is it true that Selena has bipolar caused by the death of her boyfriend?" Lola asked. 'caused by the death of her fiance' She thought to herself.34

"No, she doesn't have a boyfriend who was murdered" Evelyn lied. 35

"Yo, guys, leave the girl alone. Selena probably didn't tell her" Jofef said.36

"Nothing to tell" Evelyn said staring him down, and losing. 37

"We haven't got any pain killers, Eve, soz" Jena said from behind her. 38

"Oh, don't worry" Jena sat next to her.39

"Who are the other two kids who live with you, the emo kids?" Josef asked. 40

"Kimiko Hayami and Milo Evans" One of the girl's from school said before Evelyn could. She looked at the girl - Rachel - with an eyebrow raised. "I know everyone you live with" She said when she saw Evelyn's expression. 'creep' she thought. "Maybe"41

"Maybe what?" Evelyn asked her.42

"Maybe i am a creep" Evelyn's eyes widened. Wooha, girl read minds here people! A wicked smile spread across Rachel's face. No one else reacted to Rachel's mind reading. 43

"Malibu?" Josef said holding out a glass of clear liquid that smelt strongly of alcohol.44

"No thanks, i'm under age" The small gathering laughed.45

"We all are" Josef grinned. "Execpt Tony and Daniel"46

"But we don't need them to get it for us" Lola smiled. There was a secret in that smile, a scary one. 47

"You have a brother right, Shane Parker?" Hilda asked. Why was all the convo about her? What was so interesting about her life? Well apart from the fact that she and her best friends hunted and slayed vampires?48

"Yeah, but he doesn't live here" She sighed. She looked over the crowd casually. 49

Someone caught her eye though. A guy in the darkest corner. He looked about 19 and he was wearing a black jacket that hung to the middle of his thigh. His hair was jet black and longish and had light green eyes. He was mind blowingly handsome. His open jacket revealed a tight black shirt that showed a well difined chest. 50

"Who's he?" Evelyn asked without her own permission to do so.51

"Who? the hottie over there?" Jena asked pointing to the 'hottie'. 52

"Yeah" 53

"Oh, that's Aden. He's the top dog in town. He's sexy right?"54

"Yeah" Evelyn couldn't seem to take her eyes off him even when he looked up to meet her eyes. A smile spread across his face. 55

"You wanna talk to him?" Evelyn looked at her in horror. She shook her head. "Oh come on"56

"No" Evelyn said. Aden leaned closer to the girl next to him and kissed her neck. 'oh i see, the jealousy game huh?' evelyn thought to herself. As he sat up Evelyn saw that he had somthing on his face. He looked right at her again and smiled. As a disco light flashed across his face Evelyn saw that his teeth were stained red and he had a red liquid all over his face. He licked teh blood from his face and flashed a wide smile revealing fangs. She gasped and stood up, her chair hitting the floor. 57

"Holy f.u.c.k!" She exclaimed. Gomez - a boy from school with messy brown hair and muscular arms - stood up too and snarled at her. Evelyn reached for the gun in the holster across her chest. As she pulled it out Gomez smacked the gun out of her hand. 'The knife' Evelyn thought but before she could reach for it Gomez gripped her arms and pinned her against the wall, face to the wall. 58

"Let go of me!" She ranted. Arkwardly she looked over her shoulder to find Aden inches from her. 59

"Evelyn Parker, we meet at last" He said in a silken voice. Evelyn noticed that the music had been turned down to a whisper. 60

"Let go" Evelyn growled. 61

"So you can get your knife? I don't think so, angel" He smiled in amusement. " Turn her round" Gomez did as Aden said. His smile grew. "We are a pretty little thing, aren't we, angel?"62

"Stop calling me angel" 63

"Nah, i like that name. Angel, it suits you"64

"A nice big bullet hole in the head would suit you" Evelyn said. Although she sounded tough - she was quite impressed with herself - she was s.h.i.t.t.i.n.g herself. He laughed in sick amusement.65

"I can see why Adam likes you, my angel" Adam?66

"What?"67

"Adam Freeman, nice young man him. Shame he's going to die tonight really. Those siren vampires can be a pan in the arse sometimes" Evelyn felt as if someone had punch her in the gut. Not Adam. 68

"No!" She screamed. 69

"Yes i'm afraid and maybe we'll pay Shane a visit too. I think he'd like Lola very much. And them other friends of yours, kinda in the same sticky situation as dear ol' Adam"70

"Leave them alone!" 71

"Would love to, angel, but hurting people makes me happy just as Adam makes you happy" He turned to walk away. "Oh, and i don't think you'll be alive for very long either, angel" Some of the people surrounding her and Aden changed from human looking to full vampire. "Because i like you, angel, i'm gonna make sure this doesn't hurt. Gomez, do your thing" He laughed and walked away muttering: "Do your thing, Gomez". Gomez snarled angrily.72

"Yo, Gomez, Aden said he doesn't want to hurt her, use them damn stuff" He rolled his eyes and pulled a syringe out of his jacket pocket. Evelyn wriggled deperately. She was the only one could save Adam and the others. But Gomez's iron grip was too strong for Evelyn to resist. She felt the syringe go in to her arm and she tried to yank free again. 73

"Wouldn't do that if i were you, just makes it hurt more" Everything around Evelyn became a blur and fuzzy. 'No!' She screamed in her head. 'Adam!' The last thing she saw was Gomez lean toward her, fangs beared, and the v.i.p lounge door open before the darkness swallowed her alive. Alive, she wasn't going to be that anymore. 74
