Chapter 71
I looked back at the blue and yellow of the boathoues. Jordan looked across at me. He knew how nervous I felt about him meeting Mum. "Don't worry Ilana. It will be fine."2
"I hope so." He laughed.3
"It will be fine."4
"How do you know that Jordan?"5
"Because I love you Ilana Grace Burrows." I smiled. Inside I was trying to come to terms with last night and trying to understand why Jordan loved me.6
We pulled up in front of my house. Jordan was about to get out of the car when I pulled him back. I looked at him. I didn't know what to say. "Ilana trust me, it will be fine." I kissed him softly. 7
"I trust you." He smiled at me as we got out of the Porsche. I could see Mum peeping through the curtains. I took Jordan's hand, opened the front door and led Jordan in. Mum was sitting on the couch, trying to be non-chalant. "Hi Mum, this is Jordan Caswell." Jordan extended a hand to Mum which she shook. She had a look on her face that scared me, a look that I hadn't seen since she found out who killed Dad. 8
"Jordan, why don't you take a seat. I need to talk to Ilana, ALONE!" Jordan shyed towards the couch and Mum pulled me into her bedroom.9
"I don't want you seeing him."10
"What? Why?"11
"He's evil honey."12
"What are you talking about Mum?"13
"I saw evil in his eyes. An evilness just like that in the eyes of your father's killer."14
"You just don't wanna see me happy. Because your not happy." I paused, trying to regain my stamina. "Jordan is the most wonderful guy I've ever met."15
"But honey he looks..."16
"Shutup Mum! I hate you!" I ran out leaving Mum standing in her room dumfounded and in shock. I could hear Jordan calling after me but I wasn't turning back.17
I sat on the warm white sand. I cupped some in my hands and let it slip through my fingers. The hot salty tears were dripping from my eyes, falling over my cheeks and onto the sand. When Jordan sat next to me on the sand I wrapped my arms around him and cried into his shoulder. He soothed me running his fingers over my hair. I looked up at him, intently, trying to see the evil in his eyes that Mum saw. But to me in his eyes, all evil was absent. I only saw good and his soft caring nature. I saw the Jordan I knew, the Jordan I loved.18
"She said you're evil." He kissed my cheek.19
"I heard it all."20
"I don't believe it Jordan, I don't. I love you." He kissed me softly and passionately. "It will be okay."21
I kissed him back, wildly and we started madly kissing as though we would never kiss again. 22
I didn't see Jordan for days. I moped around the house. I didn't understand how my mother could be so cruel. If only she knew Jordan like I did. I had an idea. I rang Jordan's number.23
"Hello Douglas here."24
"Hello, Mr Caswell. Its Ilana."25
"Oh hello sweetie. I'll get Jordan for you."26
"No Mr Caswell. I want to talk to you."27
"Oh okay. What can I help you with?"28
"I want you to meet my Mum."29
"Sounds great."30
"Good. She will be waiting on a table at the Lions Gate, Saturday night 7 O'clock."31
"Ok sweetie. Looking forward to it.32
"Mr Caswell, is Jordan home?"33
"Yes he is. I'll get him for you." I sat there, just hanging on the phone line. "Hey beautiful." Jordan said into the phone. I sighed.34
"Hey sexy." I said.35
"Whats up?"36
"I organised a date between our parents."37
"Yeah sounds interesting."38
"I thought if Mum could move on and be happy then she'd let me be happy too."39
"Sounds like a plan. Are you busy now?"40
"No. You?"41
"Nup. Wanna come over?"42
"Sure. I'll see you in 10."43
"Ok bye baby." 44
I ran to Jordan's, my feet pounding the footpath. I just wanted to be in his arms. I just wanted to hear his voice. When I was holding Jordan, everything was right in the world and time ceased to exist. I stopped, reaching his doorstep. I pressed my finger into the doorbell and had recollections in my mind about the last time I did that very thing. Jordan opened the door and his face lit up into a wide smile. He wrapped his arms around me. I felt safe. I could have stood there all day but when he carressed my cheek and lent in to kiss me softly I didn't refuse. Everytime I kissed Jordan, it felt like the first time. Just holding him, touching him, sent me off on the rollercoaster. He led me inside. 45
"Hi Mr Caswell." I said smiling.46
"Hello Ilana." Jordan and I sat down on the couch. Jordan flicked on the Televsion to the Christian music channel. How appropriately 'Love song' came on. Jordan smiled at me and began singing the words. I lay down, resting my head on his knees. We lay there for awhile before Jordan said, "I want you closer." I egded up closer towards him till I was sitting on his knees. I rested my head on his shoulder and he placed his arm around my back. It was a relatively cold day. But there was no need to light the fire and plus I was warm enough lying in Jordan's arms. He was the one who'd set my heart alight. 'Don't let me go' began to play. Jordan looked at me smiling. "For you Ilana Burrows." We laughed together, sharing through the song a moment in our past that we had overcome. He kissed me, hard. I loved that Jordan's kisses were so sensual. It really showed how much he loved me. We kept kissing as the song played in the background. It must have been a kissing session of about 10 minutes when Mr Caswell interrupted.47
"Sorry to interrupt. But will you be staying for dinner Ilana?"48
I looked at my watch, realising it was 5:30 and Mum would very likely be home. "No, sorry Mr Caswell. I'd love to but I better be getting home."49
"Okay sweetie. I'll see you tomorrow night." 50
Jordan walked me to the door, hugged me and kissed me on the forehead. "I love you." he said softly.51
"I know. And I love you too." I kissed his cheek. He closed the door and I turned to walk home. I wasn't ready to face Mum. I knew she'd tell me off for seeing Jordan but not even wild horses could keep me away from him.52
Chapter 853
I told Mum we were going out for dinner. She seemed a little wary but followed along anyway. When we got there I took her inside but deliberately left my bag in the car for an excuse to go out and meet Mr Caswell. I got Mum sitting down at the table and said I'd be right back. Outside Mr Caswell was waiting. I told him what table Mum was siting on. I collected my bag from the car and went back in. I walked up to the table. And tried to act surprised.54
"Oh hi, Mr Caswell."55
"Ilana, how are you?"56
"Great," I turned to Mum, "This is Jordan's dad, Douglas Caswell." She scowled at me. "I knew it, I knew it." she muttered under her breath. I knew there was something wrong when she got up from the table. She didn't say a word to Mr Caswell. She grabbed my hand and said, "We are leaving Ilana. I'll talk to you at home."57
Mum pushed me onto the couch. I felt nervous. I had never seen such a strange and scary look in her eyes.58
"Do you know who that man is?"59
"Yeah. Jordan's dad."60
"NO, he is Douglas Caswell!"61
"Yeah, I know that Mum. What are you getting at?"62
"Honey, I love you and I should have told you this a long time ago." She was shaking and I knew what she was talking about.63
"Douglas Caswell killed your father." I gaped. I was shocked but I knew it. It all made sense. The whole thing with Jordan made sense. I only had one question to ask of my mother. "How come he isn't in jail?"64
"He was. But his SON paid him out."65
"What?"66
"It was all about money Ilana. He got out of jail and was allowed free on one condition." I was hanging on Mum's every word. I had been waiting a year to hear this from her. 67
"The condition was that he had to move far away from us."68
"So did you know where he moved to?"69
"I had no idea. I was never told."70
"So why did we move here Mum?"71
"Because of my job offer."72
"I know Mum. I'm sorry." She hugged me and everything seemed okay but I was stuck in the middle. I was confused. What was the right thing to do? Be faithful to my family or to my heart?73

Hmmm.... I didn't enjoy this chapter as much as the previous, and it's not just because there was no erotica (you needn't mark it as such unless there's that kind of content).
I just found that a lot of the happenings in this chapter stretched believability a little. Maybe if you extended it, gave a little more detail, and set up some subtle hints regarding Douglas Caswell's involvement would work.
For realism's sake, you might want to adjust how he avoided being in jail. I sincerely doubt any government would let a guy just move away. Maybe he was let go on insufficient evidence or accepted a plea bargain?
Sorry if this was harsh, but the story was going well, and these chapters seemed to hinder it a little. -
NO HES TOO PERFECT TO BE EVIL!!! **SOB** lol im loven the plot! its like a soap opra! I LOVE IT! lol
