"Please don't leave me" she cried, holding onto the sleeve of his shirt. Gripping it with such force that her knuckle's were going white "you don't have to go" she said staring at him, her eyes red and cheeks wet.1

"Don't act like this" Jason sighed shaking his head "ill be back, i promise"2

"No" Kate gulped, not wanting to here it "you cant promise, you cant promise to come back, you don't know if something will happen to you" more tears seeped down her face. The little make up she wore now completely gone " you cant go" she cried, holding his shirt even tighter. This wasn't the first time she had begged Jason not to leave, she had begged him last year not to in-list to go to Iraq, she begged and cried so hard that she went into shock and Jason had to rock her and sooth her to sleep. But even after seeing Kate threw that he went and listed him self a month ago, having to be deployed in a few days to come, and only just telling Kate now.3

"I can promise" Jason pleaded "Ill be fine"4

"This is so stupid" she yelled finally letting go of his shirt and walkingn the hall way floor "your only doing this cos of your brother if he hadn't gone in then you wouldn't have"5

"Don't you dare!" Jason's words came out so loud and hard that Kate froze in fear "Tommy has nothing to do with this" his face was tight and his jaw clenched tight, if all was silent you could probably hear his teeth grinding.6

"Tommy is every thing to do with this" Kate shot back, pointing to one of the army patrol cars out side in there drive way "if Tommy hadn't gone in then you wouldn't of, if Tommy hadn't been shot" her voice trembled "then you wouldn't have gone in still, what happened to Tommy isn't your fault" 7

"yes it is" Jason looked around the room at everything but her "if i had begged Tommy as hard as youre begging me then maybe he would still be here, maybe if i had gone in with him"8

"then maybe you would be in the grave with him" Kate cried, her lips trembling "don't you realise that, if you had gone then you would be right where he is and if you go know then you will still be in that spot" he said nothing. He only stared at the photo of his younger brother on the coffee table of Kate's living room "please Jason" she slowly walked back over to him taking his hand in both of hers bringing it to her mouth and kissing his hand softly "don't leave me, don't go" more tears threatened to weep from her red eyes as she kissed his hand once more but still he kept looking at the photo "Please" she begged "don't leave, not for the sake of me but for the sake of our baby" and with that she placed Jason's hand over her belly, his hand feeling warm threw her thin t-shirt.9

Jason's head snapped up his eyes wide, then his face softened, a smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. He placed his other hand over her stomach that he only just noticed was a little swollen, a little bigger than he had noticed before"Jason please stay, don't go over there, don't make me go threw the pain of losing you" with out another word he pulled her into his arms, hugging her tight, taking a deep breath and breathing in her sent.10

"ill come back" Jason whispered, a sob escaped Kate's lips "ill come back" he repeated louder holding her face in his hands looking at her sad and hurting eyes "ill always come back for you" 11

"no" Kate cried hard "no baby don't"12

"ill never leave you, ever, ill come back, i promise" 13

"no" was all she could say as he placed a tender kiss on her lips and one on her cheek.14

"i promise" he repeated grabbing his bag and heading out the door, staring in at Kate as he walked away. Watching her fall to her knees and crying into her hands. He watched her mumble words of what he thought was a prier, wishing him safety as the truck slowly pulled out and left. Leaving Kate with no one and nothing, only the hope and promise of her baby coming back.15
