What Her Eyes See {part 1}

A little girl sat watching T.V. while her brother lounged on the couch next to her. She turned and her brother and asked1

"Why is your girlfriend so sad?"2

Her brother turned and looked at her in confusion3

"What do you mean?"4

The little girl chewed her bottom lip wondering how to tell her clueless brother. She took a deep breath and gathered her thoughts.5

"When you look into her eyes, what do you see? What does she hide behind her smile?" 6

She watched her brother think about her questions.7

"In her eyes I see love and happiness, nothing is hidden behind her smile"8

The little girl rolled her eyes.9

"No," she replied " Thats what she wants you to see.In her eyes I see her pain, fear, worry, and her love for you. When you cheated on her, the pain showed. When you two took a break, the fear came, the worry will always be there from now on. And the love will never fade." 10

The girl watched the tears form in her brothers eyes. 11

"Sometimes," she said laying her hand on her brothers arm "What you can't see is most important."12

The girl turned back to her T.V. show and was soon back to her giggling self. The boy stared at his little sister amazed at what she was able to see.
