1Everyone always asks if it isn't great to live so close to the Magic Kingdom. Well, it is and it's not. Like Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum this town is two sided. Sure there's plenty to do around here, but it gets expensive. It gets crowded with tourists. And you get tired of seeing the Mouse everywhere. The town also puts on a front, it's all clean and fun over close to the park, but just a few blocks away the gangs take over and there's graffiti everywhere. Oh, and let's not forget about the smog and fires (that cloud in the background of the Space Mountain picture is from brush fires)2
There are some good things. I can see fireworks whenever I want, not just on the 4th of July. I do try to go once a year to visit my friends Goofy, the Beast, and ride Space Mountain, despite the high cost of admission. However, us locals try to avoid the summer time as there's less crowds plus we get free park hopper tickets so we can do both parks for the price of one.3
The best thing though is the nostalgia. Disneyland has been and always will be the Happiest Place on Earth in my heart.4

Orange County, CA.
Not LA as most people believe.
