Ash at Kings Chapter 1

Chapter 11

Is there such a thing as Fate?2

That's the question our 'dear' teacher has told us to contemplate. We are stuck studying Tragedy in English Lit, so really we are studying LIFE. Funny how that works, I smile. 3

"Miss Ashington?" Shit, what was the question? Mr Tenner watches me intently, he obviously knows I wasn't paying attention and now he wants to embarrass me. 'Well two can play at that game'.4

"Yes Sir?" I ask condescendingly. Lucy would kill me right now if she new what I was planning...I smirk.5

"What are your thoughts?" Is he serious? That question was specifically designed to make me seem stupid and at the same time giving me no information about the subject. If I told him my thoughts, I would probably get expelled; not that I wouldn't mind that. The whole class is watching me, waiting for me to fuck up. 6

Whats a girl to do? Time to set my plan in motion. 7

'knock''knock''knock'8

Mr Tenner lets out a frustrated sigh and gives me a dissapointed look. I am too, I muster my best innocent face and turn my attention towards the door; like the rest of the class. 9

OH.MY.GOD. Adonis just walked in...'fresh meat'. He strides over to Mr Tenner, hands him a slip of paper and is instructed to choose a seat. 10

"Class, this is Bradley Willson, he is a transfer from the Kings school in London and will be joining us for the remainder of his education", so his name is Bradley? Cute. The whole class-bar me-hold there breath as he takes the open seat in the row directly behind me. I can't help but giggle mischievously, Oh,no.11

"Miss Ashington? Do you have something to share with the class?", he is going to BURN in hell, I groan internally, but plaster a mask of indifference on my face and wait for the right moment. Again the whole class-including 'Adonis'-is watching me, waiting with baited breath; they know me too well. 12

"Well?", he's enjoying this too much. 13

"Well what?" I play with him, but keep my mask.14

"Do you have something to share?",I'm gonna wipe that smirk off of that smug little face. 15

"Share with who?", again completely indifferent. I sound bored, Mr Tenner looks frustrated and there are scatterd laughs being choked down by the other students. I lock eyes with Sir, refusing to submit. 16

"Sir?" I break the silence; in my sweetest voice.17

"Yes Rose?" ugh! I'm going to enjoy this, I hate that name.18

"Whats your definition of Tragedy?" again I'm all sweetness and light. Come on! Fall into the trap...19

"Excuse me?"-his expression changes from confusion, to suspicion and then to victory in a breath."Well my definition would be a form of human suffering, be it emotional or physical and paradoxically offers it audience pleasure..."he trails off reading my expression. My mask is gone, replaced with and expression of pure elation. 20

"So the suffering doesn't have to hurt you, it just has to be enjoyable to watch?" I ask innocently, my eyes smoldering in pleasure. Mr Tenner nods, 'he's completely out of his depth' I chide. The whole class watches me rise from my seat and make my way to the front of the class. Mr Tenner doesn't take his eyes off of me-or rather my skirt-,men...I role my eyes.
'Please your in your 50's' I want to laugh at him. He only picks on my because I turned him down and I tease him on a daily basis. 21

You could here a pin drop in the classroom.22

I come to stand in front of Mr Tenner, I don't glance back at the class; just in case I break down laughing. I slowly raise my arm and rest my hand on his left shoulder, a light sheen of sweat rests on his forehead. I lean my head in until I'm centimeters away from his ear. His breathing is ragged and uneasy, I have to hold back a gag. I breath seductively against his neck and whisper "Your fly is down" just loud enough for the front row to here me. He stiffens, I look back at his face he's beetroot red.
3..2..1, an uproar of laughter shakes the classroom and a wide grin spreads across my face. I just can't stay serious another moment longer. 23

I turn back toward the class and join in their laughter. I quickly glance back at Mr Tenner, he's still FROZEN. A fresh peel of laughter escapes my lips and is drowned by the loud ruckus form the students. I start slowly walking back to my seat, careful not to trip over anyone's bags; that would be embarrassing. I notice a few people have their phones out, having videoed my entire escapade. This is gonna be all over the school in 10 minutes, bad for Sir, good for me. 24

"Ashington?!" I hear my name faintly over the ever growing laughter. I glance over my shoulder, 'so he's finally broken out of his trance'. I continue to walk to my seat and sway my hips; just a little for effect.
'If I'm going to hell, I'm going in style', I think. "!!!!!!!!SILENCE!!!!!!!!" Mr Tenner roars, the class freeze's than breaks down in laughter again. More and more students are taking out their phones; to document the festivities. All wanting their own proof. I'm shaking with silent laughter, not wanting to end up in hysterics on the floor. "ASHINGTON! OUT!!!", finally...my heart leaps in jubilation. I WIN. 25

My desk is second in from the 4th row, the 1st seat of the row is empty; Lucy is ill today. I bend over her desk to grab my bag, why is it so quiet? The whole room gasps and I hear the faint sound of a camera phone clicking. SHIT! The back of my white blouse has ridden up, revealing my lower back to the whole classroom; that means they can all see the tattoo lips on the lower right side of my back. I sigh, they were going to find out eventually. I reach for my black-oversize- studded leather bag, secure it over my shoulder and look up. 'Adonis', is looking intently at me. I'm still bent slightly over Lucy's desk, so I smirk at him, wink and turn before I see his expression; already knowing he'll be blushing. The teacher is waiting by the door and the class is sat in stunned silence. What.A.Lesson. I smile and sway my hips again. Fun's not over yet. Mr Tenner is holding out a blue slip of paper 'DETENTION', he looks far to happy for MY liking.
"Till next time, Sir", he looks shocked but hides it quickly. He opens the door for me,'such a gentlemen' I roll my eyes and Leave just as the bell rings out; signaling Lunch. I am tempted to sneak a look at Mr Tenner, but think better of it. The scraping of chairs and gossip of the students fill the hallway as I am engulfed into a sea of angst ridden teenagers. 26
