The Nightmare

"Daddy, I had a nightmare."1

John awoke, looking at his daughter. 2

“Wanna tell me about it?" 3

"No!!!" 4

John frowned. "What's wrong?"5

She whimpered,"In my dream, when I told you about the dream, the thing pretending to be Mommy sat up."6

Silence.7

Slowly, the covers behind John begin to shift...8
