A run-on sentence quote. It would have been better to cut it into several sentences, but if it was originally this way, then you can choose.
Now this was an interesting quote and it took me while to figure things out but I finally did. And now I only wished I knew Jack Kerouac and how on Earth he came up with it.

Good Kerouac quotation.
Sounds like he's discussing his buddy Neal Cassady.
The problem with Kerouac was that as he slipped into middle age the world lost all meaning to him.
Sadly, I can identify with the problem.
