Future band guys (Chapter 2)

"...and this whole time, you had me convinced that dysentery was a fun sort of mint-chocolate-chip milkshake. Uncool", Alex narrowed his eyes at Jack. I couldn't help but double over in laughter. 1

"Ha ha! The milkshake girl was like What the f***!" Jack laughed.2

"Yeah yeah...so how's the drummer situation going?" Alex asked as he sat at a table. 3

"Well...he's...thinking about it", Jack said nervously.4

"What do you mean thinking about it? It's been like 3 weeks", I said as I took a gulp of my strawberry slushy. 5

"It's just...I need to give him time", Jack replied.6

"So in other words you're going to keep asking until he eventually cracks"7

"That's the plan!" Jack grinned. Alex shook his head before looking at me.8

"What?" I asked suspiciously.9

"Can I have some-"10

"No Mr dysentery man", I laughed.11

"Aww come on! Just one sip", Alex started tickling me.12

"No ah no". I laughed as I tried to keep the drink away from him. Jack saw this as a good opportunity to take a HUGE gulp of my drink.13

"Jack!" I laughed in disbelief.14

"What? I was thirsty", he said as he poked out his now red tongue.15

"I should really go now", I said as I took the drink off of Jack.16

"Alright I'll take you home", Alex followed me.17

"I'll go with you guys. Wait. I can't feel my legs! I have no LEGS!!!", he exclaimed as he flailed his arms about. Alex rolled his eyes as he put his arm around me and walked out.18

"Oh...wait", He said as he stood up.19

"False alarm guys! My legs...it's a miracle! Hey wait for me!"20


The next week I sat in the garage, watching the guys try to write a song.21

"How about one about circles? I like circles".22

"Can we write another time?" Zack asked as he flexed his arm.23

"'I wanna get laid.24

I wanna make lots of money.25

But unfortunately honey,26

This band sucks.27

The end.' How about that? Because at the rate that we're going, that WILL be us", Alex said angrily.28

"Geesh sorry", Jack mumbled.29

"How about you try again another time", I suggested.30

"Yeah another time. See ya", Zack said as he rushed out the door.31

"Yup. I will think of something when I'm back alright. Like 'Dear Life: I f*****g love you. After prom let's take this relationship further'", Jack sang as he ran out the door.32

"How about we go get a real mint-chocolate-chip milkshake", I said as I grabbed Alex's hand.33

"Dear Maria count me in" Alex said as he got off the floor.34
