Future band guys (Chapter 1)

I scribbled answers on the paper and bit my pencil thoughtfully when trying to work out the equation. I could feel someones gaze on me, I looked up to see Alex staring at my answers. 1

"Buzz off. Figure it out yourself!" I laughed as I covered the sheet.2

"Come on! Let me see!", he said as he tried to grab my paper.3

"No way, use your 'Photographic' memory", I said as I blowed a raspberry.4

"I can't be bothered! And I DO have a photographic memory", he said narrowing his eyes.5

"Sure you do", I said as I rolled my eyes.6

"I'm gonna tell them about how I used to copy you, when we're famous", he laughed. 7

"Uh huh...and why would we be famous?" I asked humoring him.8

"Because we're going to be in a band", Alex replied knowingly.9

"Really?", I said holding in a laugh.10

"Yes REALLY. You won't be laughing when we DO become famous. You're gonna sing like Ronnie Radke or Craig Mabbitt. And I'm going to play guitar like Monte Money", he said nodding.11

"Well that sounds great, but who will be the Robert and Max of the group?" I grinned.12

"Well Zack I suppose can play bass and Jack can play drums", He said nodding like an idiot.13

"Uh huh. And can you play the guitar?" I challenged him.14

"No...but I could someday", He smiled back.15

"Well I look forward to that day...because band guys are hot", I said as I poked my tongue at him.16

"Well what about future band guys? Do you think they're hot?" Alex asked as he shuffled closer to me.17

"Like..."18

"Jack? Yeah he's pretty hot", I said cutting him off.19

"Yeah but he's not as hot as another person you know", He grinned.20

"Yeah, you're right. He's not nearly as hot as Zack. Whoa is he hot", I smiled as I tried to annoy him.21

"What about someone in this class?"22

I scanned the room, "Eww I am NOT going out with Jeremy".23

"Look we could pretend that we're just friends or...we could be more", Alex said as he put his hand lightly on top of mine. I went quiet for a while.24

"Only if you stop copying me in math", I eventually replied.25

"Deal! Lets seal it with a kiss", He said leaning in.26

"Yeah maybe next time Romeo", I said as I put a book in front of me. Alex ended up planting a kiss on my maths book.27

"Great to see how much you love math Alex", laughed the teacher as he walked past.28

The next week I sat in the library listening to tunes.29

"Hey girlfriend", Alex said as he put his arm around my shoulder. I smiled at him as I continued listening to BlessTheFall. Jack dropped his books rather loudly, while singing "My muffin top is all that. Whole grain, Low fat. I know you wanna piece of that". The librarian gave him a dirty look until he shut up.30

"I swear. She totally wants me", he said as he winked at the 40 year old librarian. I shook my head as I leaned against Alex. I yawned as I rubbed my eyes.31


"I wasn't going to say anything but Maria...You look Really tired".32

"Thanks Alex. That's what every girl wants to hear", I yawned again.33

"Seriously, have you been okay?" Jack looked concerned.34

"I...I just haven't been sleeping well. Just nightmares"35

"You know, I could protect you from those nightmares. If you know what I mean", Zack cut in as he sat next to Jack. 36

"Ha ha...you're funny", Alex said as he gave him a look. I winked at Zack for full effect.37

"Any way future band guy. When are you going to form the 'band'?" 38

"What band?" Jack and Zack asked at the same time.39

"Well Maria is going to sing-"40

"Actually I can't really...sing. But Alex your voice is...adequate" I said nudging him.41

"Fine. I'm singing and playing guitar. Zack can play bass and Jack can play drums-"42

"Whoa! I do NOT want to play drums. I want to be a guitarist", Jack said as he folded his arms.43

"Two guitarists?" Alex made a face.44

"The old Escape The Fate had two guitarist", I cut in.45

"Fine. But we need a drummer"46

"I know a guy that can play the drums!", Jack said enthusiastically.47

"Who?" we all asked at the same time.48

"Rian", Jack spoke up. We all grimaced at the name. We all knew that it would take a miracle for him to agree to join.49
