It was a surprise that Sasuke just forgives me,just like that when he arrived at the school.I'm glad he accepts my apology from all what happened earlier.I hope we can get into a better start now.It was strange when he came with my brother next to him,but oh well,it would be nice if they get along,too.3
The five of us entered the school to room 301.All of us are very quiet for some reason.The tense feeling filled into the air as I looked at Ryuu and Sasuke who are giving a straight face,while climbing up the stairs.Let me see. . .Maybe we've already in a trap? Well,its good to guess than doing nothing around here.But the trip around the staircases is very short for the third floor to get to.It's not that short to get to the third floor,it should be longer than that.4
When we walked through the halls,we already hear lots of commotions approaching whenever we take every step of the wooden floor.There's a lot of people who are ninja,also,crowding around a door as they argue back at someone who is not letting anyone in.5
"What's all of this?" a voice that came from Naruto,watching a guy in green who is getting his butt kicked by the two guards.6
"I don't know. . .,"I said,hating to watch these people fighting eachother already."I wonder what's keeping them outside."7
A gasp came out of my mouth when I spot the green person got punched in the face and fell on the floor as a girl with two rolls of buns on her head came to him.They both have a reason why to enter in the room.8
"You guys should quit,now.You're all just kids,"said the ninja by the door with his partner by his side.9
The brown hair girl looked at them with pleading eyes."Please let us through. . ."10
It was a mistake when she stood up and get near them.Carelessly,the ninja hit her on her cheek,causing her to stumble back where the green suited boy is at.My head cocked as I ran towards her,watching her kneeling down on her knees to recover herself.11
"Oh no. . .,"I mumbled,bending down and placing my hand on the girl's back for comfort."Are you alright?"12
The girl looked at me with hurtful eyes and nodded while she rubbed her cheek.13
". . .You horrible people. . .,"grunted the boy beside her,glaring at the two ninja.14
One scoffed,grinning like an evil person would smile."What did you say? Listen,we're just being kind.The Chuunin Exams aren't for you people and it's not that easy."15
"Yeah,amoung those who takes the exam,many end up quitting as shinobi.Others are unable to recover at all. . .We've seen it many times."16
"How old are you anyways?"Ryuu rudely asked when the ninja said that he seen it many times.17
The person crossed his arms and nodded with a smirk."More than you think,kid. . .More than you think."18
"Just let these people pass,please. . .,"I said,helping out the girl next to me."We really want to go in and take the exams.This is why we're here because we want to honor our own villa-"19
"Shut up,sweet-cheeks,"he interupted me with that kind of out burst which it kind of scares me."Girls like you need to quit these kind of stuff.You don't fit into the ninja world like we do."20
My eyes fell to the ground in embarrassment infront of all these people around us.Of course it killed me in the inside to here something like that.I'm already rejected by others in the Chuunin Exams.I don't know how much I'll take this.21
Whispers crept around people and bad insults to the ninja before us.A foot step came infront of me,knowing that it belonged to Sasuke.22
"Hey," he began to the guards with a hostile look on his face."Didn't your mom taught you how to talk to a girl,properly? You're underestimating my teammate,you annoying bas*ard. . ."23
"What did you say,you low-life?" glared the guard.24
I blinked at Sasuke's behavior towards the ninja infront of us.Naruto stepped in with a clutched fist in the air and vein popped on his forehead.25
"Yeah!" he agreed."You have no right to speak to Misa-chan like that,believe it!"26
"Hmph!" the ninja scowled."What is this? Some sort of gang you guys are playing?"27
"Don't be so naive,"spoke Sakura with a small smile."What are you guys are playing?"28
The two ninja arched an eyebrow at her as I ask myself the same thing.What is she talking about?It surprised me that Sasuke is sticking up to us by calling the guys mean names.29
Sasuke fully walked infront of me,keeping me out of the scene so I don't have to get hurt."Now stop with the genjutsu,and leave her alone.You're already disgusting me with your show-off faces."30
My eyes twitched by Sasuke's act and the believing that the whole thing is a genjutsu.Everything is happening so fast that I don't know what is real or not.Is this the real Sasuke who is standing up for me? Is it true that I don't belong here with the rest of the team? Are these guys real?31
"Sasuke-kun. . .," I whispered when he turned back to give me a quick glance,before staring at the two ninja again.32
The ninja laughed quietly."Hah.Finally,someone noticed. . ."33
"That's right!" Naruto said,proudly.34
I looked up to see the number labels from 301 to 201.I knew the stair trip was too short! Everybody started to whisper again of how they are amazed by our actions.Heh. . .I should be glad that I was put in this squad.35
The ninja smirked in defeat,but somehow is sly."That's not bad.But all you did was to see right through it!"36
I gasped again when the ninja disappeared in a flash and was about to give a kick to the stunned Sasuke.I got up in a hurry as I grab onto Sasuke's shirt from behind to make him stay out of the fight.37
"No,Sasuke-kun! Don't-"38
I stopped,also,when a flash of green appeared in between Sasuke and the ninja.Holding their fighting position in a halt,but the thing is that he just came into the fight in a speed of light.39
"Whoa. . .,"said Ryuu."Did you see that?"40
Sakura shook her head in disagreement."No way. . .I don't know what just happened."41
"That was. . .fast,"I awkwardly mumbled to myself,staring at the person.42
Sasuke pulled his leg away from the boy's hand and glared at him for stopping his kick.He took a step back,making himself stand next to me.I took another look at the boy who have interrupted the fight that was about to be chaotic.He sort of have a mushroom hair cut and deeply round eyes under his extremely bushed eye brows,wearing all green and bandages wrapped around his arms.to me,he looked shockingly. . .weird.43
Another boy who has long brown hair that is tied to the bottom with white eyes,and the girl who I just helped out came into the scene.44
"Hey,"said the blank eyed boy."What happened to the plan? You're the one who we shouldn't draw attention to ourselves."45
"Well,yeah but. . .," the bushy brow boy paused for a second,taking a small glance at me.46
The girl shook her head in disbelief at the boy's thoughts."Oh no. . ."47
The boy walked towards to me with a straight face.Sasuke laid his eyes on him,closely,wondering if he might attack me since he knows that I look the weakest one in my squad.48
"I shall introduce myself,"he announced."My name is Rock Lee.I heard that your name is Misaki,am I right?"49
I nodded slowly,but realize of where is my manners!"Ah,yes! My name is Manami,Misaki! I am pleased to meet you,Lee-san!"50
Lee laughed a bit at my words,and bowed in respect."Well,Misaki-san. . .You are the most cutest girl I have ever seen! Please be my girlfriend!"51
"Uh,what?!" I made funny face while my eyes became huge at the option.52
He grinned a fully white teeth smile and holds up a thumb in accomplishment.When I turned to Sasuke,he looked very pale at the green Lee's shout out.His dazzling position was cut off by the girl by grabbing his green outfit to yank him to the ground.53
"When will you get a hold of yourself?" she asked,hovering over him to give Lee a scary look.54

I heard Naruto laughed in the background while pulling his arms behind his head.I'm still shock at Rock Lee's question that it became fast,too.Ryuu kept an eye on Lee,making sure if he's going to attack with a hug.Sakura giggled that I can attract people like Lee so easily.56
The girl chuckled quietly,before turning to me and Sasuke."Hehe. . .I'm sorry about him.He's not good in social!"57
She eyed him again,which making Lee to crawl back to the corner.I laughed with her as Sasuke narrowed his onix eyes in boredom.58
"My name is Tenten," she introduce herself."I wanted to say 'thank you' for helping me back there.I thought I will never enter the exams on time."59
"Uh,no need for a gratitude.I'm just looking out for people,that's all,"I waved my hands infront of me to give back her thanks."Besides,you look like you needed help."60
"Hey,"someone said behind Tenten,coming into the conversation."What's your name?"61
It looks like he's staring at Sasuke for his name."I don't have to answer you."62
"Oh?" he said."So that's how it seems.Then what's yours?"63
He turned to me all of the sudden,getting my attention."Huh?"64
"My name is Hyuuga,Neji," he started with a smile.65
It is a nice smile,actually.And he's a Hyuuga,too.Those are one of the best clan that I've heard from other people.Something about that they can see to another distance,or looking through people's chakra.That's impressive.66
Sasuke gave a fierce glare at Neji,still smiling at me as I smile back."My name is Misaki.I heard that the Hyuuga clan is great."67
"Thanks.I really like how you stood up for my team,earlier.It was nice of you to do such a thing.You know,you are really cute," his compliments are very charming,too.68
"My name is Uchiha,Sasuke!"69
The two of us stared at the blue raven,his sudden burst is just random and strange at the same time.He looked very angry and impatient of our chat.Right,I shouldn't have leave him out of it.70
He came infront of me,again,like he is protecting me from a dragon."There.Happy? Now leave us alone so we can-"71
"Misaki!" another voice that is so familiar that makes my heart skip a beat.72
Sasuke sighed,heavily and he didn't like the sound of this,not too happy at all. I delightfully turned my body around to see the blood red eyed boy,running towards me with an exciting face he gives.I heard Sakura squeal,giving Natsume a lovey-dovey look of twinkle shines in her eyes.73
"Oh,Natsume-kun! You're here!" I grinned at him as he stopped infront of me.74
"You made it.Are you about to leave?" he questioned,ignoring Sasuke to the side who is giving him ungenerous faces.75
"Y-Yeah. . .We caught into a big jutsu,so we have to get going."76
"Hm.Too bad.I'm about to meet up with my sensei,but I'm sure that I will be in the exams before time runs up."77
I gave him a skeptical look."What time?"78
"Well,about that. . .My teacher is testing us of how fast can we get there before he does," Natsume stated,shrugging his shoulders of an undecided option.79
"Oh,okay.Don't let me stop,I think you should be going now."80
He nodded in agreement,telling me goodbye and to see me in the exams then.It's like he didn't notice that Sasuke is still beside me,still giving Natsume nasty faces as he runs off.81
Oh,Natsume. . .He still reminds me a lot of times when he was younger.He's doing his best to move on in life without Hikaru around.I do miss him,makes me miss the old Natsume.But this new one that I am looking at right now,its even better tha before,even without Hikaru is around.I wonder how much he's bottling up.Did he already forgot about his only best friend? It makes me sad sometimes when I think about it.82
My face soften and smile lightly,staring at the direction where Natsume have left.Sasuke looked at me with a blank expression,but looked to the side with a despairing face he's making.It caught my attention,wondering why that he looked troubled all of the sudden by taking a glance at me.I wouldn't want him out of the picture,I want him to be with all of us in the same page.If he's not enjoying himself,then I would be in depression with him.83
"Sasuke-kun. . .," I said his name,giving him a wondering look.84
He turned his head to face me with the exact same look.Wistful and gloomy.Even his eyes shown emptiness in his dark onix color,causing my blue ones to soothe down.85
He didn't say anything as usual,keeping himself quiet so not one of our team should him hear him.Besides,now Lee is flirting with Sakura.86
Both of my hands held onto Sasuke's.It made him jump a bit by the warm feeling in my palm and the gentle touch connect with his.87
"We're such a great team,"I started,a bit off topic but I hope it helps him."A good squad wouldn't just think for themselves,separately.But thinking for another is the best thing of a squad to have succeeded."88
Sasuke lift an eyebrow by awkward topic that I'm getting to.I get it also,I'll make it clear for him to understand.Another figure watched the two of from behind,but to be oblivious and get this done that I want to focus on.89
"So Sasuke-kun?" I gave him a gentle smile as my voice became softer and kind to dissolve the moment."Don't stop thinking about others,okay? I think you're doing a great job,and I should know.You became such a great friend to me."90
What I mean to say is. . .Sometimes Sasuke can think about other people,like how thinks about me and the team to work together.When he did that desponedent look,I knew that he is still having trouble when I'm around Natsume.But I think he knows that I seem to take a liking to Natsume,and thought that I don't have any time for him.I want Natsume and Sasuke to be even,so it can be fair for everybody.91
For some reason,I could see some pink color on Sasuke's pale cheeks,rising across his nose.Probably that he doesn't want anybody to see that I'm embarrassing him.He looked away again.Not sad,or shot down,but more in a better mood in himself.So I thought I embarrassed him enough,letting go of his hand so it can fall back to his side.Now Sasuke looked a bit confuse about my action.92
I still grinned at him,lacing my hands below my shirt."And you know? I think this is an exciting friendship that I have ever had."93
Sasuke glanced down to think about something of what I had said,still making that embarrassed look but more color into his cheek than before.Ah! What did I do wrong?!94
He started to stutter,finding the right words to say something but came up with this."Y-Yeah,whatever. . .Just stop stalling and let's go."95
Then he unlaced my hands to grab one,pulling me to walk with him as I stumble to regain my balance of the quick pace.I was stunned and dazed,but soon realized what Sasuke wants.He doesn't want me to leave him,either.He couldn't let go of what he had found in the beginning,like adopting a strange animal which you don't like but soon to grow a nice bond with that animal.96
My lips formed an open smile while our team began to catch up.Maybe Sasuke is starting to accept me this time.97
After when we finally made it to the third floor,which it looked a lot more different than the second in a good way.Strangely that Rock Lee have interrupted us again.He greeted me and Sakura,again,but in a 'kissy' way.It bothered us even more,making Sasuke challenged him already.Well,Naruto was annoyed with all of these people is asking for Sasuke's name and not his.So Naruto tried gaining on Lee,but however get whipped in one blow.I was worried because Lee looked a little older than him,and from that incident,there's no way to misjudge of Lee's speed.From his high skills to compare to Sasuke's,I don't think the results could represent Sasuke's winnings.98
The challenge didn't came out pretty good,seems like Lee is already beating Sasuke.I couldn't watch anymore as I shut my eyes to make this fight to stop when Lee is already unraveling his bandages around his arms.With Sasuke's Sharingan is no use,making things excited for Rock Lee.But later an interruption have interferred the battle by a ninja star cutting in.Still,Sasuke is still in the air and falling towards the ground.My brother insisted of saving him this time with a handsign formed to his fingers,feathers formed in the air and to gather around a stack of them below Sasuke's fall.He landed into the pile of white feather as some flew into the air.We all began to help him to see his conditions.99
The person who stopped the commotion is another copy of Lee,but older,known as Gai,Kakashi's arch enemy.And a talking turtle is right beside which kind of confuses Naruto a lot.100
From Sasuke and Lee's fight,I realized about the Chuunin Exams.It made me think. . .Is there more people,other than Lee,who are stronger than us with more experienced skills? That's what I'm afraid of. Then,there will be more challenges,not just this.It's only the beginning.I do want to pass this,but I'm not too sure if I'm ready with this kind of option.101
"I see. . .So Sakura came as well,"said Kakashi when we're about to get close to the doors of 301.102
He looked at all of us,or counting us to take attendance or something.But his stare stopped at me,figuring out of what just happened to us during when we got here.103
"And I'm surprise to see you here,Misaki,"he continued."And I thought you will never able to make it.Now you guys can full register."104
"Fully register?" I repeated."You said that we can make the decision to enter it or not."105
"Not exactly,"he replied,lying about before when we're on the bridge."You see. . .I lied.This exam can only be taken in teams of five.If I told you about it,the three of you might tell Sakura or Misaki to force them to enter,when they didn't want to."106
"Then what happens?"Ryuu asked."Not one of us is going through that door,right?"107
Kakashi sighed in defeat,knowing that Ryuu is completely smart."That's right,Ryuu.You're always the smart one."108
What is he going to make us do next? The challanges are already hard enough for me.But like they said,I can't get out now.Of course,they need me to enter these exams.They were always looking forward to this for. . .I don't know how many years.But I know that they are waiting for this kind of moment to happen in their life.I don't want to ruin it by not entering with them.109
I looked at Naruto,blinking and staring at Kakashi,wondering the same thing of what he's going to do.110
Especially,I don't want to ruin it for him.Wrecking his dream to be Hokage is a waste of time of hanging out with me.It will tear him apart,including Sasuke.He wanted to make that accomplish of defeating his brother,someday.111

It was weird that my voice became serious for once.Most of the time,it's always sweet and small.113

The others were shocked to hear myself sound like a marine infront of them,thinking that turning back is my only choice.But I want to challenge myself into these obstacles that are ready to be tested behind that door.116
"No matter how small. . .or how big the test is. . .If it's bigger than me,then I'll take it.This is why I joined the academy and become a ninja,because I want to prove myself and to everyone that I'm not the little girl who hides behind a tree all the time.I'm different now.Because,now this girl have the courage to step out of the tree and take every moment in life to face.I have to stop hiding,and face the real challenge that is coming to me.The reason why we're here is to take another level behind that door,Kakashi-sensei.Because now I'm a ninja.I have to stop hiding and keep running."117
They became quiet.They never heard such strong words came out of me about fighting and the exams.I guess I proved them wrong that I have to be serious with this.Now this is something that is bigger than taking assigned missions.It will be bloody and chaotic,but that's not the point.It's something that I have to improve on.118

It was pretty awkward once we came into the room,knowing that it looked like a regular classroom.When they mentioned exams,meaning a paper test?129
But most of all,it surprised me of how many of these ninja that looked very strong.Maybe the trained really hard,or beat their faces to make themselves look scary.Who knows? It could be one of those choice.130
Naruto and Sakura were the ones who is having a hard time of staring at these ninja.But I think they are staring at me.I may look the weakest out of my team.Curse my kind features!131

And that insult really cut me through as I look really dull with a head down while my brother and Naruto is defending me.But what really makes me think is if Ino is here,then the rest will be. . .145

"Shikamaru-kun!" I called him with a smile."You're here! It's been a while."147

Inside of me says that I shouldn't have said that.I was streaming in anime tears to the side so nobody would see my face.It will make me sound even weaker than before.Well,I do deserve another level to take,despite the fact that the last mission was a total failure to me,even when Kakashi told me that it's okay and I was doing my job.Yeah,staying in bed for two weeks helps a lot.151

I spun around to see the team that is also familiar."Kiba-kun! Shino-san! Hinata-san!"158

But my grin broke down when I see another person with them.He is sad and depressed,more like missing someone in their team.And I should know what he thinks and wondering why he is feeling that way right now.The red eyes became empty,looking to the side of the scene with hands in his pockets and,as usual, his hair is really messy infront of his glowing eyes.160
"Natsume-kun. . ." I spoke of his name,making him snapped back to my gaze once he noticed who I was talking to.161
My voice wasn't as cheerful,but the tone would make him get his attention.He just looked at me without any emotions crept to his expression while I waited for him to make a reply or something.Just staring and reading my thoughts of what I think of him,but he wouldn't speak of it out loud when there's a lot of people is crowding in one room.So he would just shut it and make his time worth while to see me again.162
Natsume sighed,feeling a bit of bored of greeting this word."Hey."163

Natsume twitched a smirk as he pat a hand onto my head,but Sasuke stepped in,ruining Natsume's gesture on top of head and fall back to his side by pushing Natsume arm with his shoulder to shove away.He glared at him for cutting in the moment when he starts to feel better,Sasuke doesn't know if its a good or bad thing to talk to me this time.168
"Misaki,"Sasuke said,looking straight down at me."You better stay near us,or else you'll get yourself lost in here.You have no idea how many guys are looking at you with messed up faces."169
That part scared me when he said 'guys' while I quiver in fear."You mean. . . perverts?"170

"Hey,hey,hey!" he waved his arms to let the commotion fade away while Akakmaru barked."Save it for the exams,you two! Nobody wants to be sweaty and leaking out blood for crying out loud."174
He gave another accomplished smile,looking at everyone of us with reading eye."So I see all of the Genin rookies this year are going to the exam.How far do you think we can get,Sasuke-kun?"175
"You seem to be confident,"Sasuke told him,smirking at his challenges.176
"I am.We trained like hell,so don't think we will lose to you people."177

For a second,I gnored his compliment and stared at his headband.There's something about it that looks so strange.It showed the symbol of our village and it's carved the exact same thing,but. . .It doesn't look the same with all of our headbands.It doesn't shine like cold metal does.Kind of fake. . .191
I don't want to listen to his explanation about putting chakra into cards and how long he's been here to the exams.Did he get held back or done it on purpose? His leaf headband doesn't look that old,and I'm sure he can't exchange it every year because that will be wasting it,right? Then,he started to explain about ninja here who are getting stronger than they look.That's pretty obvious to know.Of course they look strong,or they didn't look like they didn't just graduated from any school,pretty much like a military or jail.And it surprised me that Sasuke asked him for two people to look up on his cards.I'm not also sure if the cards have every information about those people,especially one of the ninja that Sasuke have mentioned.192
My eyes caught Naruto's trembling act;fists clutched,eyes squeezed tight,head down.Even Sakura looked worried for him,too.And I think it was pretty nice of Sakura to suggest to cheer him up a little,catching herself walking up behind and comfort him.It wasn't smart of Naruto to bypass her satisfaction and yelled out to the class with a pointed finger.193
"My name is Uzumaki,Naruto! I'm not going to lose to any of you,believe it! Got that?"194
"Naruto-kun! Please. . .Shhh,"I panicked,taking glances at every ninja in this room who are giving Naruot nasty looks.195
And it made Sakura think to worry about him for nothing.Some rookies here who are agreeing to challenge everyone,but some of them are thinking that it was stupid of Naruto to do that.196
"Hey! What's his problem?!" Ino yelled,turning to Sakura for some reason."Why don't you tell your boyfriend to piped down?!!"197
Eh,that was a shock,even for Sakura.While the two of them who are bickering,Naruto sighed and wrapped his arms behind head.Sasuke gave a quick smirk for the little loud knuckle-head ninja's burst,and it made the rest of us excited for a battle already.198
" 'I'm not going to lose to any of you'? You talk so big,"Kiba mocked,grinning in a sly motion.199
"That idiot. . .,"hearing Shikamaru's mumble."He just made everyone here his enemy."200
