I am a 15 year old girl in Australia. I have lived here my whole life.2
Australian culture is welcoming and neighbourly. We are known as the multicultural country because we have so many different people from all over the world living here. 3
The rest of the world puts us in the stereotype built on Crocodile Dundee and Steve Irwin, but the reality is that a very small percentage of Australians are actually like this.4
Technically any white man in Australia is not Australian. In 1788 the English sent over all their convicts as their jails were not large enough. These convicts were used as farmers and labourers. The Aboriginals that had inhabited the land for millions of years were killed and totured by these white men because they were different. Many of the Aboriginal population died due to this cruel and ruthless killing.5
But I'm not mean to be giving you a history lesson.6
Australian culture is laid back and diverse. In one street you could have 'White Australians', Aboriginals, Asains and Sudanese living together. This is what Australian culture is all about.7
I myself live in a small farming town about an hour from the state capital. Backpackers come from all over the world to come here. Our schools are australian as much as they are Sudanese and Asain.8
So I guess it's hard to pin-point Australia's culture because we have cultural aspects from all over the world. 9
I would be more than happy to answer the questions for your essay and I hope this tells you enough about Australian culture
