It hit me like a slug to the chest... the smell of something I never smelled before... "Allan, what's that smell?" I asked sniffing the air. I don't know whether it smelled bad or good... I guess it was a mix of both.1

"I don't know, Liz... but whatever it is doesn't feel very... good, I guess you could say... go get Alice..." he said with a worried look.2

As soon as he said that, something else hit me. I saw it! It was a person, someone I knew from school. How could that be? I never smelled her until just now... what is she?3

"Liz? is everything okay?" I heard someone ask. I turned to look, it was her! I stiffened up when I realized her scent.4

"Yeah, everything's fine... um, who are you?" I asked. A frenzy of thoughts clouded mine and her mind. it's like she was going to go crazy in her mind... her thoughts all overlapped.5

"I... um... I'm sorry, I, uh..." she stammered staring at me. "um. I'm Amber..."6

"Well, hi Amber... WHy are you here?" I asked, still trying to figure her out. "Alan, go get Alice..." I whispered. "Amber Black, right?"7

"Yeah, that's me!" she smiled faintly. 8

I still couldn't figure out who or what she was... I know this, she's not human! "How did you know where I live? and why are you here?"9

"I found you on the roster and looked up your address... and I am here because you missed today... are you sure everythings okay? You never miss a day." And how she knows who I am, I don't know... I've not once talked to her in my life.10

"Oh... I've had a few little problems with the family, that's all." I lied. "But everything's better now." I laughed11

"Yeah..." she said. She took a long breath, like she was sniffing at me. She let out a breath and made a small grimace.12

"Do you smell something funny?" I asked.13

"Um, no..." she said, but I know she was lying. if it's not her that I was smelling, then what the hell could it be? "I think there's something outside your house... I don't know what it is, but it doesn't feel right... or smell right... don't tell anyone, but..." she cut off in the middle of her sentence. She looked around real cautiously. "I can't tell you..." Just then I heard her thinking "animal... wolf of somesort..."14

I don't know why I didn't think of that before! Animal... it's a dog! a funky smelling one at that, I guess it had a skunk for lunch or something like that... because it was raunchy! Just then Alice came in. "Oh, wow... what a smell!" she chuckled. "Hi, Amber, it's very nice to see you..." she smiled nicely. She sniffed the air. Wow, it must be something strange because they never do this! "I'm not exactly sure what it is... I've never smelled it before..." she sniffed harder. It was then that I realized... Amber was a vampire too!15

When I made that observation, it all became clear to me why exactly she was there... the strange smell, her being worried, her stammering and all... she was running from something. What that was, I'm not sure, but I believe it was either a werewolf, or something similar! But what could be worse than a werewolf??? I wasn't sure. "Alice, what do you think it is?" I asked.16

"I'm not sure, but whatever it is... it's not good." she sighed. We all sniffed a little more. 17

Suddenly, Amber gasped. 18

"What, what's wrong?" Allan asked.19

"I think I know what it is..." she stammered out a little. then she looked at me and worded "Werewolf"20

My eyes got real wide. "What?! Werewolf? Wow. Now a few weeks ago, it would have freaked me out to hear people talking about vampires and stuff like that... but now it doens't scare me so bad... but werewolves, holy hell..." I started to freak out a little in my head... but I was really very calm.21

Lyle came walking in the house with a young boy. When the boy came in, the smell got way worse... Then he looked up at me. it was HIM! David...
