When I am Gone away from you
you must pack away all my clothes
and leave nothing on the shelf
I will be gone a very long time
and leave nothing of myself.1
When I am Gone away from you
it would be best to leave the house
The places we ate will smell like must
And the places we rested
will be covered with dust.2
I know that now the sun is shining
the windows of our home are warm
but dusk is coming steadily on
the light seeps out
til the curtains are drawn.3
When I am Gone away from you
take a walk into the world
walk slowly, old, and free
don't pick the same-same paths to take
or turn back for thought of me.

Tres interesant- I've always found abandoned, empty houses fascinating. I know the house is not the point of the poem but the imagery is great!
