John's Discovery (Part 2)

"I just got a phone call saying-" her voice trailed off, as John sighed in relief. But was attentive again right as he had done so.  For she had mentioned the words 'school,' and 'principal.' 1

"What did you say, mom?" John asked again.2

"I said that I just got a phone call from your school principal…" she repeated, "He said he wanted you and I to go down there immediately. Go on now! Get in the car!"  3

"Yes ma'am" John said as he turned and trudged toward the car.  "What could he be mad at me for?" John wondered aloud. "Oh, dang it!" he said to himself as he suddenly remembered what he had done the day before. "I forgot I hid the chalk! Why was I so dumb!?!" he asked himself.4

"Somethin' wrong?" a recognizable voice sneered behind him. He whirled around and saw Danny standing there with his two best buddies, Samson was the nickname of one of the kids, he earned his nickname by hitting someone with his pinky finger and knocking them out, he was so strong! The other was Gamsle, because he was REAL strong and had a bad temper all the time, so no one would EVER get in his way. 5

"No, Danny, and you can leave me alone now!" 6

"Oh,yeah?" Danny knocked him over. John looked up in stunned silence. Then he remembered something. His taiquando move! He did a scissors around Danny's leg, and holding on tightly, rolled over. Danny came tumbling down on his side, and before he could do anything, John scrambled up on his feet and looked at Samson. Samson had his mouth dropped open and stared at Danny in astonishment. John hopped in the car right before his mother walked out of the house.7

"Go home little kids!" Mrs. Trembolton said boldly. She walked to the driver's seat of the car, got in, and they drove off at once, going directly towards the school. John shivered. 8
