Not Enough!

Author notes

Choosing one word is very difficult as well as inadequate. Finally, the best word I could come up with is loyalty. The best example I could find is the loyalty between a pet and its master or is it the other way around, the master and its person? I'm owned by six cats. I love all of them deeply. They depend on me, but I depend on them for their love and companionship. We are loyal to each other. They accept what we give and give what we demand.

I love how you put the picture of the cat there — cats spell loyalty all over them! Your description was really what made me love that one word! Thanks!

      Hi there!

Yeah, Gracie was my baby. She was dying when I posted this. That's the only picture I have of her.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I appreciate it.

      Hi there!

It may not really be a great picture of Gracie, but it's the only one I have of her.

Thanks for stopping by and for commenting. I'm glad you feel the word fits, but it doesn't seem as though you feel it's a great word.

Well I actually do think it's a great word. Even though I guess I don't have a "great" way of showing it I know a couple who are married...but they don't even love each other. It's pretty sad really.

          Well,

It's possible to be loyal without love, but it's an extremely important part of love. Loyalty is more likely to come from love than other motivations, I think.

She refuses to support him. I've never once seen them hug, kiss, compliment each other, or say "I love you". But maybe deep down they really do love each other. Maybe it's just not public. I'm young so I still have a lot to learn about love.

              Love,

I feel, is a decision that a person makes and may have to renew often. I believe that it's possible to love anyone. Although I believe that sex can be an expression of love, I don't think that sex is love. Love often exists without association to sex.

In many relationships, I would think that love may be shared, though not demonstrated openly. Many people are shy about the open expression of emotions.

I know that "Sex is not love" but it would be nice if they showed some sort of emotion towards each other. I think the truth is that they got married because she was pregnant. Back then you had to apparently. So while he was out partying, she was complaining and not paying much attention to her kids. They're not bad parents but they didn't really spend much time with them.

      Howdy!

I'm still struggling to get rich. I'll give you a call one of these days, maybe.

I'm very pleased you like my word. It was the best I could think of and still is. Commitment was another I thought about, but loyalty in the end I think is more.

I'm extremely happy that you like Gracie. She was my baby.

That is an excellent word for love. Gracie is a cuttie! I have her twin only he is a boy. Hiway, because that is where we found him. He gets as close as he can when he snuggles up on the couch, and he likes to suck on your ear. He has the same BIG eyes.

      Hi there!

Thanks for checking out my word for love. It's sort of ironic. The word love is so overused that it tends to lose its meaning, yet when you try to find words to replace it, none seem quite adequate.

      Gracie was a great cat.

      Hi Lavanya!

That's Gracie. Well, my cats mean a lot to me. People are more important, of course; but loyalty is important in any relationship between people and pets or people and people. I could think of no better example than the loyalty between people and their pets.
