Saying Goodbye

I knock on her door, like I've done a million times before, but tonight it's different. Tonight there won't be any loving feelings and warm kisses, there won't be any pointless chit-chat tonight. She opens her front door like it's any other night. 1

"Hey babe!" She greets me, further opening the door to let me in. There's blood on her shirt, she's been cutting again.2

I walk into her little apartment, most of the lights are off and some vampire movie is flashing on the T.V. screen. She looks beautiful tonight, in a white t-shirt and her plaid pajama shorts, no make-up. 3

"What's up?" She asks casually, she doesn't know I found out yet.4

"You cheated on me," I'm not going to beat around the bush, "You know damn well 'what's up' Chelsea!"5

"It was a mistake, don't treat me like I don't feel bad about it. I got caught up in the moment!"6

"You know we can't be together anymore, right?" My bottom lip begins to quiver, after a year and a half, breaking up hurts like hell. I've shared everything with her, and this is how she repays me, by getting "Caught up in the moment"?7

"Please don't do this Eric, I love you! I'm so sorry!" She's desperately struggling to keep me.8

A tear falls from my cheek and I leave the same way I came. The image of her crying face burning in my mind. It's over now....

good job. would've been better if you dove deeper into things though. how painful that must have been for him! she's dumb for cheating.
