Terra Nova orbit, Terra Sigmas system.1

“Holy shit,” shouted Fleet Admiral Harper.3
“That thing is bloody huge!” most other people in the command room of the Icarus had noticed the object to which the Fleet Admiral was responding too. They eventually agreed that the Object was something the angels had created, the race which and created primates, Intelligent primates but they themselves had derived from a large bird creature. The object was long and sleek and was about as long as Manhattan Island. It had a strange curving rectangular shape to it. About half way down the object it divided into what seemed like the arms of a forklift only these were immensely thick and bulky. At the centre of these two arms, a red glow started to form. The Fleet admiral zoomed in on this glow.4
“Bollocks, that things a gun! All raptor pilots mobilize! Code red, code red, I want all orbital defence platforms aimed at that thing!”5
Just as he had finished giving the order, the red glow became a beam channelled down the two arms of the object and followed a path straight into two of the orbital defence platforms, the Hercules and the Hades, obliterating them both in a contrasting burst of colours and radiation which splashed across the planets atmosphere. 6
The Fleet Admiral stood defiant shouting orders to get the Icarus into position to fire its main canon, the Starfire cannon, which used ten hydrogen fusion drives with ‘mini-stars’ about mid-sequence inside. He watched helplessly as ten more platforms disappeared into clouds of ionised materials and debris. The crew really started to panic as the object took aim at the platform closest to the Icarus and fired.7
The platform, ironically named the Annihilator, was blasted across its right flank by the beam but the force of the explosions and decompression's forced the platform into a chaotic tumbling towards the Icarus, Who could do nothing to get out of its destructive path. The Annihilator ripped through the Icarus’s rear sixth portion, tearing the engines away from the ship and sending the Icarus into a roll.8
“Damage report!” called Fleet Admiral Harper. No one responded either because they were dead or too shocked to do anything. 9
“Icarus Prepare to fire the main canon!” 10
“Admiral I am not getting any response from the engines, the blast of the cannon will force us in the other direction at the same speed as the cannon is fired and the resulting G-forces will tear this ship apart” responded the computer in its usual calmly irritating voice.11
“I don’t care just fire it.”12
“Starfire cannon preparing to fire” the ship’s voice rang out across the damaged super vessel. 13
The view from the larger of the two moons was spectacular. On of side of Terra Nova was the Object, immobile, not seeming to be anything and on the other side was the Icarus its ten generators glowing wildly and its Barrel beginning to glow a dull blue white. 14
“So this is the end then, what a way to go” The Fleet Admiral said to himself. Then the generators went black, the barrel lit up bright white and a streak of immense light boiled across the top of Terra Nova’s atmosphere and sliced through the Object. The Object changed into a cloud of light balls, which floated outwards and faded until there was nothing left. The Icarus was no were insight, no debris, no explosion, no mess, no trace, just a fading streak of light.15
