Spin the Bottle

"Come on Rai-chan! We’re all gonna play spin the bottle!" Deidara shouted with excitement as he opened my door. I looked up from my sketch pad. 1

“Is Konan playing?” I asked with an eyebrow lifted. 2

“Uhh ... Not sure, but come on! It’ll be fun!” He didn’t sound to convincing. But I got up anyway. I set the sketch pad down on the bed as I got up and walked toward the door. I saw Hidan come out of his room. He smiled at me and then winked. 3

“This’ll be fun, huh Rai?” he said closing the door behind him. 4

“Oh, yeah. Real fun” I muttered following him down the hallway. When we finally reached the main room, everyone was there, even Itachi. I smiled at him and walked toward him. I’m not sure if someone did this on purpose, or if it was my own klutziness, but I somehow tripped and fell into Itachi’s waiting arms. My head was pointed to the ground and I didn’t dare look up into his face. I stayed there, frozen until Itachi’s thumb pulled my face up. 5

“That was cute” he said with a sweet smile. 6

“It kind of hurt” I said with a awkward smile. I felt my cheeks start to flush. Itachi’s smile grew into a grin. 7

“You’re so cute” he said, then gently kissed my forehead. 8

“Break it up you two! We haven’t started yet!” Hidan yelled, being half serious and half joking. Itachi shot Hidan a glare, which quickly shut him up. I looked around and saw everyone in the Akatsuki but Konan. 9

“Deidara, Konan isn’t here” I pointed out. 10

“You’re right, she isn’t. I guess you’ll just have to spin the bottle” he replied. My mouth fell open and I looked up at Itachi in disbelief. 11

“It’s okay. I’ll kill ‘em if they hurt you” He didn’t seem to get the whole picture!12

“Okay, Rai spin it!” Hidan said setting the bottle down. I let out a long sigh, then spun it. It spun and spun until it landed on Hidan. I could’ve screamed, sighed and punched a hold in the wall at the same time. Don’t get me wrong, I like Hidan, but he was like an older brother to me. “Well if it isn’t my lucky night?” Hidan said as he held his hand out for me. I rolled my eyes as I got up. As I walked over to him, I muttered useless death threats until he put his arms around my waist. 13

"Try anything, and I’ll murder you” I whispered. Hidan smiled and said “ I promise” I couldn’t help but let a small smile make it’s way across my face as he pressed his lips to mine gently. Surprisingly, he was very gentle, as he pulled me closer.14

“Okay, that’s enough” Pein ordered. Reluctantly, Hidan pulled away. I stuck my tongue out at him then turned to walk away. I spun the bottle again and then stood up, becoming very impatient. When it finally stopped it landed on Tobi. I heard myself groan. 15

“Tobi gets to kiss Rai-chan!” he exclaimed as he came to me. I couldn’t help but giggle. Tobi had this charisma to him. He could make you raging mad once second, then make you die of laughter the next. Tobi put his gloved hand on my cheek and lifted his mask up enough to show his lips. I was shocked at how good of a kisser Tobi was. He pulled away and pulled his mask down. “Rai-chan is so sweet!” he said as he pulled me to him. Again, he surprised me, he grip was very strong. 16

“Tobi, Rai-chan can’t breathe!” I gasped. Tobi released me right away.17

“Sorry Rai-chan!” he apologized. I smiled.18

“Next!” Pein interrupted. I spun the bottle and it landed on Itachi.19

“Finally!” he exclaimed pulling me down to him. 20

“Impatient much?” Itachi just smiled. Another 15 minutes went by and I was losing my patience for real. 21

“Well, if you’ll excuse me I’m going back to my room, seeing as how I’ve kissed EVERYONE in the Akatsuki” I got up and was almost about to turn around toward the hall, until someone spoke up. 22

“One more spin” Pein said. If it were anyone else I would have kept walking, but it was Pein. With a sigh, I walked back and sat down. As I put my hand on the bottle, I looked up. Three people were left: Pein, Deidara and Sasori. I closed my eyes and spun. I didn’t bother opening my eyes. I heard whistling and gasps. For a moment I thought it would be Pein, but when I opened my eyes I saw the bottle pointed toward a couch. And on that couch, was Sasori. He was laying with his hand holding up his head. His eyebrow lifted, as if he was asking if I was coming. I rolled my eyes and got up with a groan. Sasori sat up as I walked toward the couch. As I sat down, I felt Chakra strings attach to my body. 23

“I’m not going anywhere Sasori” I muttered. An amused smile formed on his face as the Chakra string pulled me into his lap. “Behave now” I said, slightly nervous. Sasori smiled and placed his hand on my cheek as he leaned in. I was surprised his lips were somewhat warm. I always thought they would be cold and stiff. His other hand wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer. If he had pulled me any closer there wouldn’t be room to slip a piece of paper through, hard as that is to imagine. Slowly and gently, he pulled away.24

“That was pretty intense Sasori” Hidan commented with a smirk. 25

“I could have said the same for you” Sasori retorted. Hidan got the hint and reluctantly shut up. As soon as Sasori released his strings I got up and walked toward the hallway. 26

“Where are you going?” a voice demanded. I turned around to see Pein with his arms crossed and a half smirk on his face. Without realizing it, I let out a loud groan. “Get over here, one more and you’re done” Pein instructed. Muttering under my breath, I walked once more back to spin. Now it was between Pein and Deidara. I let out a sigh and spun. It felt like an eternity until it stopped. A lot of people shifted positions at least three times. A huge pause of silence started when the bottle stopped. I didn’t know wether to let out a sigh of relief or fright. The bottle had landed on the person I was most afraid of getting close to: Pein.27

“Ooh, go leader!” Hidan cheered. I shot him a glare, then walked over to Pein. The moment I was close enough, he placed his hands on my cheeks, and whispered, “ please don’t be afraid of me. I can be gentle” As soon as he said that, my whole view of him changed. At first, I thought of him as a bully and just flat out mean. But now, I felt like he really could be gentle. My body froze as I felt him pull away from my ear. He was now looking into my eyes. I felt my body start to relax when he smiled at me. As my body relaxed, he leaned in. At first I was overwhelmed by everything, but as his hand wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer, I started to relax again. Just as quickly as it started, it stopped. He pulled away and then told everyone to go to their rooms. Itachi got up and walked toward Pein, slightly concerned. 28

“I just want to talk to her, then you can have her back” Pein explained. Itachi nodded and then walked toward the hallway. “Follow me” Pein ordered. Normally I would feel scared and helpless when I was with him. But he did say he just wanted to talk. He led me into his office and sat down at his desk. I still didn’t know how to react to him, despite my view of him changing. “Please, don’t be afraid, sit” he said, softly. There was a long pause between us as I sat down. A couple minutes went by, until he spoke. “I want to know how you feel about me” he said. I opened my mouth and tried to speak, but no words came out. I was afraid I would anger him, but it was exactly the opposite. “It’s okay, it’s late. I suppose you’re tired. I’ll let you get some sleep” he explained. 29

“Thank you sir” I said as I got up. I turned and headed for the door. When my hand touched the knob, he spoke.30

“Don’t call me sir anymore” I looked back at him with confusion. 31

“What should I call you then?” A smile formed across his face. 32

“Call me Pein”
