Ground Zero (Chapter ONE)

"Fasten your seatbelts!" 1

I clipped on my buckle and sat back in the seat. The flight attendant walked down the aisle to me. She smiled with a sincere look on her face. "Can I get you anything?" She asked politely. I looked at her and replied "No thank you, ma'am."2

I was flying to Maryland, it was my first time on a plane. My great grandmother Ellie was meeting me at the airport. I wanted to see the white house, and I wanted to see the National Zoo.3

"What's your name?" The flight attendant asked me.4

I forgot for a second. "Umm..." 5

"Umm?" She smiled. I sighed and said "Alicia." And the woman melted there on the spot. "That's a beautiful name!" She gasped. The other passengers looked at her. Realizing people staring, she moved to the back of the plane. A man dressed in a suit smiled at me. "She's real nice, isn't she?" He asked. I nodded. "The name's Carl. I overheard yours. Pretty name." 6

The reason why my mother wasn't telling me not to talk to strangers is because I was an unaccompanied minor. It was kind of nice, being free. If my mom was here, I wouldn't be talking to the flight attendant, or Carl. 7

The flight was long. It was very, very long. At some point in the flight, I heard screaming. Then something that sounded like a gunshot. I looked over at Carl and I saw that he was watching a movie on his laptop. I relaxed in my seat.8

Author notes

This is really short.. Wow... =P
Well, I looked up names from flight 93 and put them together the best way I could. Alicia is a real person, so is Carl.
