Magical land of lalala chapter 5

"I'm staaarving." Sam moaned.1

"We've got mice." Kat reassured her.2

"Ewwwwwwwww."3

Kat laughed. "Suit yourself. I'm having one."4

"You should watch her eat." Mac whispered to Sam. "It's hilarious."5

Kat turned around. "I heard that!"6

Then Kat became a cute little cat and batted a live mouse (heaven knows where it came from) around with her paws for a while before snapping its neck. Sam gasped in terror. Kat then used one of her razor-sharp claws to slit the mouse's throat, a gush of blood streaming out. Kat turned human to drink its blood, then returned to cat-form to devour its carcass. 7

"Mmmm." she purred.8

Sam was pale with disgust. "You drink the blood while you're human?!?"9

"Umm, yeah. It doesn't taste very good as a cat. Too salty. It's the only food I can have when I'm in human form, though."10

"What?" Sam asked.11

Mac groaned. "Blood taste no-no good to cat Kat. Blood taste yummy to person Kat. Un-duurr-staand?" he said slowly.12

"But why does it taste good to her human form? And why is it the only food she can have?"13

"My mum was an enchantress, that's why." Kat said. "To have the most powerful magic, you have to sell your and your daughters' souls to dark magic. Boys strike it lucky. Essentially, Kay and I are cursed to drink blood because our mom was a mite power-hungry." 14

Sam sat down. "Woah. Deep."15

Kat (in her cat-form) got back in the tree trunk and curled her tail around her body and settled down for a nap. "Not really too complicated." she yawned. " 'Night."16

"Sleep tight!" Mac replied in a high girlish voice. "It's hardly past mid-sun."17

"Whaaatever." Kat moaned.
