About ready to go to bed he turns off the light1
The loud yelling from next door causes such a fright2
He tries to ignore it and go back to bed3
He tries to forget how their lives are such a dread4
The screaming gets louder5
Once again they are overpowered6
Once again he just forgets7
One day it will be his main regret8
Another loud thud9
They cannot deal with this crud10
Finally he realizes it has to stop11
He calls the cops12
They go in13
The children are so thin14
He's passed out on the couch again15
The cops run in16
The children cried17
It turns out their dad had died18
Their mom comes home19
She's already stoned20
The police take her away21
The kids have no where to stay22
He watches from my house as they leave23
He sees them grieve24
The all look so sad25
He feels so bad26
If only he hadn't ignored27
Maybe if he had called before28
Things wouldn't be so bad29
Then the kids wouldn't be so sad30
