A Million-Dollar Love (Part Twenty Six)

(Lyna's POV)1

There was something so familiar about those guys. I couldn't place my finger on it, but Master seemed so careful with me around them. I don't know what it is, but they are intriguing! Master held my hand as we walked back to the den room where Master Kale was. When we entered, Kale was sitting on the sofa and sipping on his drink. I ran up and gave him a hug, plopping down next to him.He laughed and patted my head. 2

"You're so energetic!"3

"Can I see now?" I begged.4

"Yes. Yes. I've got it here." Master Kale handed me a box.5

I opened it and inside was a beautiful, renaissance-style, dark red dress. It was just off the shoulders and very low cut in the front. 6

"Well, better get ready. The fun in going to start soon." Master Devon smiled. 7

I kissed them both on the cheek and ran upstairs. I took a shower and then dressed. When I was finished with my hair and makeup (which I seemed very good at for some reason) there was a knock at my door. Master Devon was in an old-fashioned suit with a dark red tie that matched my dress. We went downstairs and out to the carriage that took us to Master Kale's friend's house. When we entered the house everything was so beautiful. The ballroom had candles lit everywhere with white and red roses. Everyone was drinking what had looked like red punch? It was most likely spiked, I bet. The night was wonderful as I danced with Masters' Devon and Kale and met many other beautiful women who were so nice to me. At the end of the night, Master Devon took my hand and led us to the front of the crowd. Everyone immediately became quiet and stared at us. Well, better yet at me, which made me so nervous I tried to pretend like I wasn't interested in what was going on.8

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the night," Devon began. "I come before you this evening of the full moon to bring the love of my," Devon paused as if thinking of the right word. "Well, love of my life." Lots of people laughed. I shrugged it off as people being weird, but I couldn't help but feel something bad was going to happen. "I bring her this night to make her my mate, for all enternity, and would like the council approval, of course." 9

He turned to a row of old people behind us who looked so frozen in their seats. One by one they gave a nod of approval and when they finished Master Devon smiled. He turned towards me and held my face in his hands. 10

"Are you ready, my love?"11

"Yes, Master Devon."He bent down and I could feel his cold breath on my hands. 12

Just when I thought he was going to kneel and propose to me, I felt a sharp pain in my neck and I yelled out. After a while, things became dark and I closed my eyes. I could feel Devon's arms around me and lots of yelling and screaming. Were those my screams? After a while Devon stopped holding me and I could feel myself moving forward and then as if I was parched, my thirst was quenched. I kept drinking until I saw an image. It was in my head, but it wasn't mine. It was of...me? And a boy? The boy from the dungeon! Then thousands of images flooded into my head and I pushed whatever I was drinking away from me and screamed for the images to stop. I opened my eyes and the boy was lying on the floor in front of me, his breathing was shallow and he was bleeding. Then, it hit me. I did this to him. Devon is a vampire and made me one. Crap...Frank will never forgive me for this! I turned to Devon.13

"Finish him, Lyna."14

"No."Devon became red with anger. 15

"Then I will!"Kale stepped in front of Devon. 16

"She bit him. He is marked as hers now. Faltering a hair on his body results in your death."Devon looked at me and whispered something to Kale. 17

Kale walked over to me and took my hand. "Let's go home."18

"I'm not leaving Frank."19

"Relax, he'll be carried out and taken with us."20

He was taken alright. So was I. We were taken to the dungeon and thrown into the cell with everyone else. As soon as we entered, everyone rushed to Frank. He was still bleeding and his breathing was getting worse. 21

I bent to his side and whispered, "Frank, I can change you if you let me."22

"What the hell do you mean, Lyna? What's going on?" Jake yelled at my back.I turned and hissed at him which sent everyone back a few steps.23

"Lyna...what's happened to you?" Ray asked.24

"The bad news is : Devon was a vampire and he had me be his servant bitch somehow. Well, I guess he didn't want to be with a human slave so he changed me, only now I'm not under his power and I accidently bit Frankie boy here. The good news is : they can't touch Frank because I bit him which means I marked him which means he's mine."25

"Oh." Bob was the only one to speak. "Is he going to die?"26

Mikey hit his arm and Bob glared at him.27

"Yes, if I don't change him."28

"Well, then change him!" Jake said. I shook my head. 29

"Not unless he gives the okay. I will not force him into this."Gerard stepped up to me and slapped me across the face. Everyone grabbed him but he broke free and advanced on me again.30

"Lyna. Frank loves you and he would have given his life to save you because he wanted to be with you. If you don't save him, I will kill you. Don't get righteous now, damnit!" 31

Tears fell down his face and I could see he was right. I turned and did exactly what happened to me. After Frank fed off of me he opened his eyes. 32

"Lyna?" He whispered. 33

I leaned in. "Yes?"34

"What the fuck did you save me for?!" He shouted in my ear.35

"Ow! Because you were dying!" 36

"You don't think I know that?"I paused. 37

"You wanted to die?"38

He looked me in the eye. "Yes."39

"But you can be with me now! Forever!" I reached out to him and he pulled away as if I was acid trying to burn him.40

"You're weren't you anymore when you bit me. As far as I'm concerned, you're dead to me."41

I nodded and stood up looking at him straight in the eye. "Well, now you're dead, too. You're welcome for saving your life. Enjoy it." I went to my corner and laid there until everyone else fell asleep. I cried red tears that night.
