The World As I See It

The World As I See It1

On some days I day dream and fantasize2

The perfect world which I'd like to realize3

A world where happiness spins from the clouds4

Like soft whispers that lift away the shrouds5

I leave this world of cruelty behind6

as fantasies play endless in my mind7

There's no husband having a love affair8

People don't take jabs and they really care9

My daughter has all the love in the World10

A space for her freedom has been unfurled11

People won't pick and tear her apart12

and then deny the trouble that they start13

My world is a vast meadow in the Spring14

how I love the scent that lavender brings15

An air of freshness envelopes the land16

Our souls fly free as the heavens expand17

The hands of God reach down to touch us all18

wiping away ailments that to us befall19

People love and understand each other20

The acts of kindness begin to smother21

Along the way there's a cobble stone path22

Running along side a waterfall bath23

Its spray makes you feel as though you're alive24

and into crystal clear waters you dive25

Cool and refreshing gentle waves you ride26

You have no reason anymore to hide27

All that betrothed you is now simply gone28

Everyday you live the sun's early dawn29

My finally plea is heard to set me free30

My soul feels its spirituality31

No one degrades, mocks or is abusive32

People find smiles that were once elusive33

Laughter rings over the cloudless sky34

Like harmony in sync, no use to cry35

This world is perfect I hope you can see36

All the anguish has vanished completely37

Reality is not the world as it seems38

Instead it is something held in my dreams39

as I slumber in the crook of the moon40

I hope to greet everyone very soon41

As there is a star that bears your own name42

Once you visit here you'll not be the same 43

Ride the magic carpet of the lush green grass44

That is the way we all travel in class45

Tiny fairies dance on flower bud tops46

spreading all their cheer that will never stop47

The gateway to this place is a rainbow48

So once you find one please don't move too slow49

Hop on and you're own pot of gold you'll find50

While you are letting go and free your mind51

Peace holds the future that each of us seek52

You'll find it along the freshwater creek!53

Author notes

I know this a bit more metaphorical. I hope that's OK

A very inspiring piece, beautifully written I agree with ecrivain....some of the lines in this would be great on a greeting card.

Very lovely, nice flow and carries a wonderful message.

    not bad

I think you could pick some stanzas from this and send to a contest for greeting card verses. It's a pleasant, peaceful write in any case.

This is a wonderful poem. It has a nice flow. I did see two errors.....In your 8th stanza it should read 'final' instead of finally, and the last stanza's first line should be your - I make that mistake all the time without catching it.

    It's a cool background.....but I find it very distracting.

As mentioned earlier, the piece itself is written well. Good job & good luck in the contest!
