Princess Gwendolyn, Chapter 2 ((unfinished))

The sun was at it's peak when Gwendolyn stirred from her sleep. Stretching her neck, she looked up apologetically at the person in who's lap she'd fallen asleep. "A good morning wasted... I truly am sorry."1

"Hush, my love. You are fine, for I have nothing but time." Andiysies nuzzled her. "You are quite adorable when sleeping. I enjoyed watching you."2

A flush filled Gwendolyn's cheeks. "We should go to the dining hall. I am hungry, and I am sure Mother and Father will have many questions for you." It was all she could do to keep her composure.3

"As you wish, my beautiful." The prince tucked his princess's arm next to him, and led her to the dining hall. It was nice to walk together, to have her smaller body beside his. He didn't even mind the fact that they were walking slow. Just being with her again made him quite happy.4

As they approached the table, Gwendolyn could see her mother trying to catch her eye, curious to know if Prince Andiysies knew what was going on. Gwendolyn shook her head just a little, because she hadn't told her betrothed. She planned to tell him after the wedding, so he wouldn't postpone it indefinitely. She wanted to tell him now, but she was fearful of his reaction.6

"Prince Andiysies, welcome back. My wife and I are pleased to see that the time away has changed nothing. Am I to assume that you still plan to be wed by season's end?" King Mickarther was anxious to see his oldest daughter married off, because there had been enough delays. And, on top of it all, he was worried what the courts and other kingdoms would think of him for not marrying his daughter off before she became a spinster.7

"Yes, Sir. Very soon, actually. It's only a matter of days. Just a few minor details to finish up." Andiysies
