The salty sea crashed into the harbor with great force. Many boats had been moved back to land while the others either sank or got loose and floated away. A storm was brewing up above while the twins were inside their mansion, warming themselves by the fire. 1
They were in Tokyo, 1997. The bad weather had forced everyone, including the rich like them, indoors. Rain fell down harshly and made lout pattering on the roof, echoing through the house. They paid no heed to the fact that many were afraid of what would be approaching. They were only eight, so you couldn't expect much more from them.2
Feliks had large emerald eyes, that were always amazed with the world. His hair was a light blonde, but not quite the white it would later turn to. He stood around three foot eleven and was not strong the least bit. For that he had been targeted for prey by many of his classmates. Someone small and weak who couldn't protect himself had difficulty just surviving school.3
His twin was luckily both taller and stronger. He would knock away all the bullies as soon as he saw them picking on his twin. He stood four foot eight, somewhat tall for a ten-year-old. His hair was an odd silver color, and had eyes to match. No one dared say a word about though, else he would smash their brains in their skulls. Kayden took the role of the older, more violent sibling. In the future he would mellow out as it was simply some sort of phase.4
You would think that they wouldn't get along, but in their minds they were the best of friends. In fact, no other kid would agree to be their friend. The two could care less, for most treated them badly anyways.5
"Feliks! Kayden! I'm home!" Came a feminine voice. 6
The two young boys raced from their place by the fire to give their mom a hug. The rain had completely soaked her, right through the thick jacket she wore. Her hair was a mess from the strong wind that must have started blowing. 7
"Mommy! Welcome back!" Feliks said in a higher pitched, young voice. A huge smile was plastered across his face.8
Kayden shoved his sibling out of the way a little and complained, "Mommy! I'm hungry!"9
Victoria, their mother, pushed them away from her legs so she could continue walking. Grocery bags hung from her hands, instantly drawing the twins' attention. She laughed at this and walked over to the large kitchen. Pacing down her bags, she pulled out a bag of rice and some tuna. She was planning on making meguri sushi.10
"Okay boys, which one of you wants to help make lunch?" She asked, bending down to get eye level with her sons.11
"Me! Me!" They both shouted.12
With another giggle she said, "Okay, both can help then!"13
They cheered in approval and started racing around the kitchen. "Sweeties! Stop running, and wash your hands!"14
They immediately stopped and gave her a salute. "Yes Ma'am!"15
Both of them ran over to the kitchen sink and hopped up in down, attempting the reach the faucet. When they found their efforts to be fruitless, both whimpered, as if they were about to cry. Victoria quickly rushed over and gave them each a hug. "Don't cry my little pumpkins! Mama will help you!"16
Proving her words to be true, she turned on the faucet, grabbed the twins, and hoisted them up to reach the running water. After dabbing on soap and scrubbing, they ran their tiny hands under the stream of water.17
When they finished, Victoria set them down and the twins showed her their hands while exclaiming, "Look how clean they are!"18
Giving them each another hug she agreed, "Yes, those are very clean!"19
Smiling, she set up two stepping stools so they could reach the counter while making the sushi. They had already done it many times before so it took no instruction. She layed out both red and white tuna for the food which they quickly grabbed to put on their rice. It was very heartwarming to watch them work, that she compleatly forgot her part of the bargain until Feliks asked with his big curious eyes, "Mommy, aren't you supposed to help too?"20
Victoria snapped out of her trance and nodded apologetically. "I'm sorry Feliks, I should be helping!"21
Feliks just grinned. "Okay!"22
With that he set back to work, along with his mother. It was peaceful, with noting to disturb them. Soon enough they had all the tuna over rice with a tad bit of wasabi holding them together. Victoria evened out the portions and handed both Kayden and Feliks a plate with the sushi and a little left over rice topped with soy sauce. They chowed down hungrily. 23
Victoria slowly ate, just enjoying watching her two kid's enthusiasm before they ran off. She took twice as long to finish but did just in time to hear a CRASH! Sobbing followed soon after, making her rush to the scene. Kayden was sitting in the living room bawling with broken glass surrounding him. There were several scrapes on his arm and a couple aces where glass had managed to lodge into his skin. Feliks was in the corner shaking. When Victoria looked over at him he shouted, "I didn't do it, it was all Kayden's fault!" 24
She just shook her head and picked the crying twin into her arms. Neither of them was to blame, both were just young and didn't know much better. "It's okay sweetie, mama still loves both of you."25
With that she walked into the bathroom and set Kayden down on the sink counter. She wet a washcloth and began cleaning Kayden's cuts. When she got to it, Victoria slowly pulled out the shards of glass in his skin. It took nearly an hour to get him fixed up and peppy. 26
The two were soon running around the house playing games they had invented. The hours ticked by and soon enough the doorbell rung. Feliks froze in terror as Kayden let a grin come across his face. Their father was finally home for the day. Victoria rushed over to answer the door when she saw her husband. Giving him a kiss, she led him inside. 27
"Atsushi, welcome home!" She exclaimed. 28
Kayden ran over to hug his father happily. "Welcome back Daddy!"29
Feliks stated behind, just watching the scene. It wouldn't be long now. Atsushi walked over to Feliks and gave him a harsh look. "Well if it isn't the reject!"30
"Quiet!" Feliks shouted. 31
Atsushi wrapped his hands tightly over his son's throat. "Maybe if I block off the wind tunnel, you won't be able to speak."32
He pressed harder, making it so that Feliks could no longer breath. His tiny body struggled to get freed from this large man's grasp without prevail. His father hissed at him and continued with greater force. He spat, "A low life weakling like you shouldn't even deserve to live! I'm ashamed that you were even placed on the face of this planet let alone being my son. It's despicable!"33
Feliks was beginning to feel light-headed from the lack of oxygen entering his body. With one last attempt to free his throat of his father's hand he blacked out. Kayden, who had been watching with a horrified expression, finally managed to pull himself together to run over to his father. He angrily started punching him and shouted, "Stop it! You're going to kill him!"34
His voice was young, but still held determination. It shocked Atsushi, making him release Feliks from his death grip. As soon as they left, Feliks's natural body actions took over, allowing him to take deep, labored breaths. Kayden frowned and struggled to pick Feliks up. When he finally succeeded, he carried him up the stairs, to their room. After setting him down on his bed, he panted a little and sat down. He didn't want to talk to his father so he just layed down on his own bed and went to sleep early and without dinner.

Aww... so sweet and then so sad. It's sad that the world is turning into such a monstrous place. This mad me sad, for I've heard many REALLY bad stories about abuse. (Some I think that were lies.) Good write though!
-
This was great!! I love how the mother is sooo concurned over her two little babies! The father needs Jesus lol. Was The father drunk or something? Man terrible man!! This was great though i promise!

-
Hmmm... kids seem a bit young to be ten years old. Dad sure got pissed off faster than any abusive father I can imagine...
Then again, Japan is strange sometimes... so I might not know what I'm talking about. xD -
Abusive much? Yeah, I think so...
OMG, very well written! I wanna hear more... Except, I have to ask, what do Vicky and the jerk-off father look like?

-
-
Whoops...forgot to include that detail. I'll describe them in the next chapter for sure!

KK, cool! (And I think it's cool about it saying 'malice' on the sides!... Clever...
