Ivy: Save My Soul [Chapter Ten: Twin Temptations]

I was in my dream world once more. With the clear blue sky and soft breeze that toyed with the hem of my blue dress. I let my eyes wander towards the tree that was the only sign of plant life other then the chest high grass. My eyes traced the symbols I knew by heart. The Singari gifts. The gifts causing so much grief in my life. The gifts that could cost me my soul.1

“But a gift none the less.” A soft voice broke me out of my thoughts. “A gift, that if used correctly, could change the world.” She lectured. I looked up from the trunk to within the thicker branches and there she sat, legs swaying back and forth. I rolled my eyes as something caught my attention. Something about her white dress pulled at my memory.2

“Oh, My, God!” I gasped, irritated at my stupidity. “You are the first. The girl from my dream.” Everything pieced together. “You were given all three powers, gifts” I corrected the last part at a scolding glance. Then her expression softened and she smiled at me brightly.3

“That is correct.” She sounded as if I’d given her the birthday gift she had always wanted. I guess she’d been waiting a while for me to figure this out. Don’t I feel smart. “I never gave you any hints.” She jumped from the tree landing gracefully on her feet. “Learn to be proud of your accomplishments. 4

“Wait, dose that make us related?” it left my lips before I could even think. She turned to look at me, then busted out laughing. Gee, that sure helps the self esteem. 5

“No.” she answered through her laughter. “The gifts, after being separated, have never been within the same bloodline.” I opened mouth but she continued. “No, I do not know why both you and Page have gifts.” I was about to talk again, she cut me off. “Yes. She is your aunt.”6

“Mind reader.” I mumbled crossing my arms. I let out a deep sigh and looked towards the sky. “Why, Why me? I’m no one special. I don’t even go to school! I kiss Shadowdancers, I sneak away from my Guardian.” I closed my eyes. “I can’t even protect myself.”7

“One, you are a teenaged girl. Two, you are bright and very kind. Why wouldn’t it be you?” Her voice was soft, almost motherly. 8

“Thank you.” I smiled opening my eyes.9

“Now, wake up. You have classes.”

I woke up to blackness and the sent of earth. I blinked feeling something warm pressed against me. I tried to sit up but something around my waist held me down. It took me a second to realise it was Coby. I smiled and snuggled closer, ignoring the stick digging into my thigh. I felt his grip tighten and he groaned. 10

“Morning, Doll” He smirked pulling me closer. I let out a breath trying to sound annoyed. And failed miserably.11

“Don’t call me Doll.” It was only half hearted. I closed my eyes ready to fall back asleep.12

“You should get up. You have classes soon.” He started getting up, ignoring my moans of protest. Finally I gave in and slowly lifted myself up. “I’ll drive you back.”13

“You do know Anthony’s going to kill me, right?” I yawned coyly. “Maybe even loose his temper.”14

“I guess I’ll have to come to classes with you.” He smirked over his shoulders. I sighed in defeat and hung my head. So much for that plan. I looked up as he pulled me into a tight embrace.15

“Fine.” I closed my eyes. “But lets hungry, I’m starved!” I put my hand in his suddenly remembering my starving stomach. 16

The trip back was quick but beautiful. We shot past the trees as tiny golden beams twisted and painted each leaf around us. It was breath taking. Once we got there he kissed me deeply, making me regret allowing him to bring me here. I stood there watching him take off on his bike. I sighed and took a deep breath, bracing myself for Hell. It turned out no one was in the halls waiting for mew, so I made my way to the “dinning room”.17

I stopped at the table, not sitting down as the sight of the missing twins startled me. Derak shrugged and Holly giggled. Holly waves her hands as she swallowed a mouthful of some sort of hot cereal. Meaning they are in there room, I think. I smirked and took off, payback time. I also left without knowing where there room was. That was easily solved by asking someone on my way there.18

I stood in front of there door and decided not to knock. I smirked ignoring the weird sounds coming from within. I burst into the room and stopped dead. Tony squeaked and rolled off the bed fast as Gabbie grabbed for the covers. My mouth fell open and I stared at them. Not sure I believed my own eyes. The twins were together, Together together.19

“H-hi Ivy, nice to s-see you.” Gabbie laughed nervously. I closed my mouth and closed my eyes. The sound of Tony crying brought me back and I gulped. Ho boy. I grabbed a sheet and walked over to Tony throwing it over her, helping her up and wrapping it around her tightly. She looked up at me almost frightened.20

“Please, don’t cry.” I pleaded feeling tears well up in my own eyes. “I don’t hate you guys, and I don’t think any different of you either.” Tony wrapped her arms around my neck and started to cry, hard. It all fit together though, there brother, all the little hints. But it didn’t bother me. I actually thought it was cute. 21

“You, you don’t.” Tony looked at me. I smiled and whipped away her tears grabbing her shoulder gently.22

“No, I don’t. You never stopped liking me when I told you about Coby, why would I hate you over this.” I held hr close as she started to cry again. “If that’s how you feel about each other, then go, be free. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”23

“Thank you.” Gabbie sighed putting her face in her hands. I led Tony to the bed and sat down as they hugged each other. “You’re a really go friend.” 24

“Ok, Now I will leave so you can get dressed.” I smiled then stopped at there looks. “What?”25

“You are going to go to class in that outfit?” Gabbie waved her hands. I looked down and blinked. I was in the same clothes I was in last, only they were dirty and grass stained. 26

“I might have something in your size.” Tony smiled and started ambling through her clothes. I gulped and looked at Gabbie who was smirking evilly. And so the tortured began.27

I walked down the halls, my face bright red. Tony and Gabbie smiled at me with wide grins. I glares at them, turning my attention to Holly, who was almost on the floor in tears. Glade someone loved my misery. Derak was looking up front, and away from me. I didn’t blame him. I was in a short blood red dress that barley reached past my thighs. It was strapless with a skinny belt around the waist; a small black rose was attached to it, plastic of course. 28

“You look. “Holly burst out into another fit of laughter. I glared harder at her, damn her and her screwed up sense of humour. “Inviting.”29

“Oh stick a carrot in it.” I snapped and crossed my arms. Not only did they do my clothes, but my hair was pinned up in a half pony tale, and the messy waves tamed for once. I looked like a regular princess, from a strip joint.30

“You have such a beautiful body; you have to flaunt it around more.” Tony chirped. My face went a darker red and I cursed them both.31

“Hey, have you Guys seen.” I turned around at the sound of his voice. “Ivy?” He looked at me with half wide eyes, his mouth parted slightly. I felt myself flush deeper and gripped my fists. 32

“I picked out the outfit.” Gabbie beamed. I ignored her trying to control the urge to run. Anthony looked like he was fighting something too, his face became pained and that tiny bond that held me there snapped.33

“What do you want?” I pushed it out. It came out in almost a hiss, an angry hiss. Anthony’s face went to shock and I looked him in the eyes. “Spit it out.”34

“Ivy…” Holly grabbed my arm but I didn’t move.35

“Nothing.” Anthony turned away his head bent. I bit my lip suddenly feeling very small and guilty. I didn’t go to him though; I just stood there and watched him walk away. 36

“This is our stop.” The twins waved as the skipped off. I sighed and watched them. Derak smiled and waved as he too ran off, down a second hallway that split off from where the twins were. 37

“Shut Up!” I snapped hitting Holly over the back of the head. She just laughed harder and ran to class, me at her heels. 38

“Ok class, today we are going to work on the element of fire.” The teacher smiled bright. I sunk down in my chair sighing. My first day back to classes and I wasn’t able to participate.39

“Mr. Kennles.” Holly spoke up. I sank down farther in my chair. “Ivy is not able to use her fire element.” 40

“Is this true Miss. Stonerose?” He turned to look at me. I closed my eyes and sighed.41

“I have been banned from using my fire element due to the fact it is the element I can not control. It has connected itself to my emotions.” My voice was low and I felt like sinking through the floor.42

“Oh my, that is not good. I understand. But someday they will have to allow you to learn control; otherwise it can cause serious harm.” 43

“They have tried,” I sighed and looked at him. “But, I just can’t grasp control.” 44

“Ok, maybe we could meet for privet lessons and I can help.” He smiled and I nodded sinking lower in my chair. I hardly came to regular class, why add extra classes?45

The rest of class went by fast as I watched people create little flames, fire animals and other tricks with there fire. I felt something tug inside of me, wanting to be free and play with the others. I bit my lip and cursed myself. I leaned back in the chair, being careful not to fall on my butt. Holly watches me out of the corner of her eye as she made a small flame dance in her palm. I smiled and closed my eyes.46

“Ok class, that will-” he was cut off by the bell. “I will see you tomorrow.” The class flooded out and I waited as Holly gathered her stuff. 47

“Ivy, can you meet me there. I have to talk to Tamara.” Holly smiled and ran down the hall. I blinked and shrugged. I walked in the opposite direction when I heard a voice.48

“I don’t care!” a voice screamed from a classroom. I quickly slid in, ready to stop a fight. What I saw was Page, and Joey. I sucked in a breath.49

“You don’t care about the fact you are shutting out your sister? Or the fact we are all scared for you!” He snapped grabbing Page by the shoulders. She knocked him away glaring hard at him.50

“My sister has you. I have no one! Decon wont hurt me, he loves me.” She spat. I took a step back, hitting something that grabbed me. I turned around fast.51

“Ivy, you should be in Class.” Anthony looked at me, his expression hard to read. 52

“He’s a Decugasa Page, he is incapable of love.” Joey threw his hands out, he was getting frustrated.53

“He’s different.” Page snapped. Something in my stomach turned.54

“Evil, can not love.” Joey spat.55

“Decon’s sweet, kind. He is not evil.”56

“Shut up.” I felt myself start to shake.57

“Ivy.” Anthony’s voice sounded scolding.58

“Decon isn’t what you think he is.”59

“I said shut up.” I covered my ears with my hands, digging my nails into the soft tissue behind my ears, I felt the blood drip down but I didn’t care.60

“I love him!”61

“SHUT UP!” I felt hot tears well up, Anthony placed a hand on my shoulder but I knocked it away.62

“DON’T TOUCH ME!” I bellowed. Anthony took a step back. 63

“Ivy, what’s wrong?” His voice was soothingly calm.64

“Coby and I are different.” I felt myself start to cry and covered my face. I felt Anthony hold his arms out as I stumbled a bit, feeling dizzy. No, I was stronger then this. I took deep breathes, trying to push the black dots from out of my eyes, that’s when the pain hit. I cried out as I fell backwards, Anthony catching me. I whimpered cursing myself for doing so. 65

“Ivy!” Was the last thing I remember as I passed out.66

The wind was tossing my hair in my face, making it almost impossible to see. I quickly brushed it back behind my ears and turned to face the wind. The tree still stood there, its branches swaying in the breeze. Everything was peaceful, I almost expected Abigail to be on her usual branch. She wasn’t. That’s startled me, but not as much as the fact my blue dress, was red. Something wasn’t right.67

“Your right.” A voice chuckled in my ear. I turned around as something gripped my wrist. I twisted, causing shots of pain to run up my arm. I bit back a yelp as I untwisted my arm.68

“Let me go!” I spat and held my hand up to slap him. He grabbed that arm pushing me back. I hit the tree and gasped as pain shot through my spine. He chuckled pinning me there with his body. I felt his breath down my neck and shivered.69

“Now Now, None of that.” He pressed me harder against the tree. I winced and tried to pivot my weight to one side. It didn’t do much help, but lessoned the pressure on my spine. He tightened his grip on my wrists to make up for it. Joy.70

“Bite me.” I spat then blinked. “On second thought, never mind. Don’t bite me. I might get rabies.” 71

“You try to hide your fear with sarcasm. How cute.” He chuckled showing slightly sharper then normal teeth. Did he call me cute? He did not just call me cute.72

“I.Am.Not.Cute!” I threw my weight backwards causing him to lean in slightly then threw it back into him, catching him off guard. He chuckled reaching for me again. I jumped to the side falling hard. I winced and got back up fast, fighting in a dress was hard. As I thought this the dress melted into a pair of exercise shorts and a loose tube top. Cool.73

“Learning well are you?” he smirked and walked towards me. I matched his steps, walking backwards. “Come now, let’s fight. Or are you just so weak.”74

“I’m not falling for your antics.” I snapped. He threw his head back and howled, sort of. It sounded more like someone choking on there intestines. 75

“Your guardian hasn’t taught you anything.” He smirked and disappeared. I tried to flip around but was too slow, arms wrapped around my waist, pinning my arms to my side. His free hand was on my chin, lifting it up. I glared at him wiggling, to no use.76

“I don’t want you in my dreams. Get out.” I spat with venom I didn’t know I had. 77

“You have no power here.” His voice was smooth, as if it was true.78

“I do. I have full control here.” I snapped.79

“Prove it then.” He chuckled, leaning closer. “Stop me, before I steal your first kiss.” My brain froze for a second then my eyes went wide.80

“GET OUT OF MY DREAM NOW!” He was pushed back with such force that I didn’t feel the space between his hold and the ground. He looked at me his eyes twinkling as he disappeared.81

I sat up fast sweat beads rolling down me face and back. Something at my feet groaned and I squeaked jumping back. My legs became tangled in the sheets and I fell to the ground. The person at the end of the bed shot up then cursed as they hit the wall. I giggled knowing that voice anywhere. It was Coby.82

“You ok?” I got up, wincing a bit and sat back down on the bed. He nodded and pulled me into a kiss. I gasped and kisses back, wrapping my arms around his neck.83

“Much better now.” I smiled and put my head against his chest. “Just tiered of people tress passing in my dreams.”84

“Tell me about it.” He smiled and played with my hair. I did. I told him everything, leaving out the Decon parts. Didn’t want to worry him.85

“That’s not a dream world. That’s Brencotas. It’s a world of the dead, who have yet to pass on, or have returned for a reason. They make up dreams worlds that involves the people they are here for.” He yawned and looked down at me. “Other then Galani, it is the one place Decu- what ever you call them. Can enter freely. They wreck havoc. Causing a lot of problems, but no one can stop them.” 86

“Oh, um, really?” I looked up at him. This can’t be right.87

“Well, Legend has it, that there were these gifts. Given to Singari’s. And that they could bring peace. Only they could drive a Decu- what ever, out.” He smiled. My heart stopped.88

“No.”89

“What is it? What’s wrong?”90

“Oh God no.”91

“Ivy?”92

“He knows.”93

“Your right Ivy. I do.” The voice came from the windowsill. I whipped my head towards it, my eyes going wide.94
