Clearance nightmare

Dylan was almost in heaven. He was having the perfect date. Colette and him were celebrating their 1st year as a couple! Dylan looked over at her. She was the most gorgeous girl he knew. She had long, flowing raven colored hair that cascaded down her back and stopped right below her shoulder blades. Her eyes were a large, luminescent, stormy gray color with thick lashes and when she turned them to him, he got lost in them. She was tall and slender and had a complexion that could rival any porcelain doll's. She was one of the most popular girls in the school and could turned all the guys head. Of course Dylan himself was pretty good looking and was a sports-aholic to boot. He involved in football, hockey, soccer, and tennis. And he was on varsity in every single one.1

He had liked her so long he had almost forgotten that other girls existed. They had kinda known each other for a year or so until they got introduced. They had become very good friends after that and from there they went to boyfriend/girlfriend in three weeks. They had been going steady ever since and were sitting in a movie theatre that night after enjoying dinner and dancing for their anniversary. 2

Colette snuggled up against his shoulder and Dylan put his arm around her as the movie came to a close. They had a long, passionate kiss and then left their seats and exited the theatre. As they walked to the car they started playing one of their favorite games. Truth or Dare.3

Colette asked a question and he answered and they bantered back and forth until they were in the car. That was when Colette dropped the bomb. 4

"Dyyyylan" he loved it how she said his name 5

"Where did your parents get you?" It was a completely normal question but Dylan's heart skipped a beat.6

"ummm i don't know" he stammered7

"oh come on, all kids know what store they were bought at. My parents even framed my receipt"8

"I don't want to talk about it" Dylan said turning red9

"YOU know i was bought at louis vuitton over in like France or somewhere like that for my parents 5th anniversary but i don't know where your parents got you. Cant you pleeeeaaasssssseee tell me where baby?" she gave him a puppy dog look10

"I'd rather not... so your dad just bought another car? Is it an 09 or 10 viper?" Dylan desperately tried to change the topic.11

"Dylan stop trying to change the subject and just tell me where you were bought from! for goodness sakes it doesn't really matter and Im your girlfriend. You should be able to tell me things like this." Colette was determined to find out.12

"Alright, alright. My parents bought me at um....at....the.....they bought me at Walmart. On clearance. okay?" Dylan's face was red with embarrassment.13

"WHAT! So you are like CHEAP??? oh my god! Clearance?! That is like cheaper than cheap!" Colette said. She had a shocked look on her face.14

"Why didn't you tell me this sooner???? OMG I have been dating low class clearance boy! bottom of the line!" Colette was getting almost hysterical she spaced out and then focused on Dylan with an unnerving intensity15

"Who knows? besides your parents? you didn't tell anyone at school did you? Like Lauren or Blake? OH MY GOSH! my reputation could be ruined!" Colette was yelling now16

"no one knows but you, don't worry. " Dylan tried to calm her down "Do you want to stop for some ice cream on the way back?" he attempted to divert her attention yet again in hopes of saving this date.17

Colette calmed down in a second and her gaze immediately turned icy. " No i don't want to Dylan" She spat "I never want to go anywhere with you again you, you , you Clearance trash!" She opened the door and hopped out of the truck " And don't ever talk to me again you jerk!" she threw over her shoulder as she slammed the door in his face. Dylan just sat their in shocked silence hardly knowing what had just happened.
