My best friend was a cat.

My cat.1

Let's face it. He is old, grumpy, slow and smelly, but, I love him to bits, it's unimaginable how attached I am to my small furry friend. Just this morning when I woke up to see him peer at me, his grass green eyes shined, the light from the sun rise in his sleepy face.2

He was always like that, almost every single morning.3

I named him kitty because my family were convinced he was a girl! I was too, that is until the vet told us different.4

His silky long black fur is always wild and untameable, giving him a lion's mane effect around his body. His cute white socks and tummy are the places I love to stroke the most, they always look so clean and adorable.5

When he is in a good mood, I hear him give a soft purr as he walks into the room and jumps on my laps, I give him one stroke or two and he goes wild, purring louder than the T.V, closing his eyes in the relaxation.6

When the sun hit's his fur, its magical. Its a deep red colour, and because he is so fluffy, it's like a wild fire engulfs all the dried out vegetation in the boiling hot Safari.7

When he was younger, more lean and bothered to run around all day, he used to follow me to school, right up to the gates, I kept shooing him back home, but he never listened, after a while he was like my little lamb, someone who walked me to school to make sure I got there safe, at least that's what I felt it was like as I was only seven years old.8

I would normally find him laying outside the gates as soon as school broke out, he would give a loud Purr as he recognised me, stroking up against my legs, tickling me with his long fur.9

I would always try to catch him - to pick him up, but he jumped like a little rabbit, away from my reach, it was rather amusing so I followed him until I knew I would get in trouble for being late home by my parents.10

I remember when I was about eight, I lost my two best friends in the same week so I became anti-social, and I isolated my self from other kids, and after a while they all gave up and I didn't care.11

I didn't think I would need anyone but my cat - Kitty.12

I only past out of that stage when I was 12.13

He was always there for me, and I am so glad I have him, even though now that I'm grown up and don't need him as a best friend any more, it brings tears to my eyes that he has multiple fatal diseases which will bring his world to an end.
