Grecor

Lord of the Rings. As the heroes of Grecor gathered from across the lands, the tensions betweens races diminished by the sanctity of their noble quest, they do face bickering over that one question. Who among them could control themselves to watch over the ring constantly; which was least likely to give in and wear the accursed hoop of gold? 1

Gandolf: "We have gathered here to decide, who will protect the ring. May I remind you that it was my wisdom to select the best of each race; perhaps it is the wizard here who actually controls magic and understands it who should oversee it's journey." Strokes at his beard slowly, reconsidering his plans as he ponders how bitching his pimping hand would look with that ring upon his finger.2

Legolas: "It is I who should carry this ring. Is it not the elves who are the most noble and ancient race of all Grecor? This would have ended long ago had elves been in charge." He's almost gazing at the ring with lust; feminine elf needing to feel the sweet kiss of cold metal as it would slip over his finger. Ahhh, that made him burn.3

Gimli: "Are you daft? You had the chance to do something the whole time, but your great leader just stood there and let the bloody fool walk off with it. Yeah, like we need you in control, when we'd get there you'd probably just give it to Saramon and let him gain power again!" Oh how he hated this elf. Since he wanted the ring, he wanted him not to have it for sure; especially since only a noble, mining dwarf could appreciate the ring for it's aesthetic values.4

Boromir: "Wrong midget. We men must have the chance to regain our honor by destroying this accursed ring! I will make up for the mistake of my forefather!!" He just wanted to do it so he could screw up again; he wanted to live out his dream of ultimate irony and hypocrisy, for the world is but a stage afterall and we are all actors who must play our parts. What a brilliant scene that would truly be. Such eloquence and beauty.5

Frodo: "Would you guys shut up.. trying to eat second lunch over here.." muttering to himself about how they were all fools, wanting to do the errand of a dead man. He would never be caught dead with that ring; now an earring maybe, but a regular ring, that was for sissies. He'd be the bravest hobbit ever to have gone through pain for a piercing.6

Gandolf: In all his wisdom, knowing that if he pushed too hard he would only call upon their other's wrath and desire for the ring; so he decides to play it safe. "I think it has been decided then.. the one who wants it least of all shall carry it for they shall not give in to it's power.. you Frodo shall lead us through Grecor to destroy the ring." Makes his plans to kill off the hobbit during the night; let any of the others try to stop him, and they would face the wrath of Gandolf the Lord of the Rings! Ahahahaha!7

Frodo: "Oh.. sure.. whatever you say Gandolf.. I will take the ring.." Gosh, who can I pawn this off on? Maybe Sam will do it for a kiss or something; that gay little wanker is always following me like a doting fawn, he can deal with this nonsense. Wait.. oh crap, I can never give him the ring.. he'd think it a marriage proposal, and if we all managed to survive this somehow that kiss would have sealed my fate! Sam must never lay claim to this ring.. I will protect it with my life!8

And so, the brave and noble heroes begin their journey to save all. Their desire to own the ring only because of their bravery and honor, so that they themselves would be responsible for the end of Saramon's dark reign once and for all. Never had such a diverse and assorted party been assembled, but neither had there been so wide-sweeping a need as this. Surely these brave men would be the stuff of legends for all of Grecor's history. After all, what else was there to talk about in Grecor?

Author notes

It reads like a script for simplicity sake since it's mostly all dialogue; no quotes around it means it's internal monologue.

Hahaha! Very nicely done! I like this - it's very well-written and overall, a funny piece. I love the gentle nudge in the end, nice touch. Frodo and Sam's relation just took a whole new direction! Anyway, a nice piece that I enjoyed a lot! Good work here!
