Shadows of this room cloud my sight,2

as I lay within the tangled sheets of this bed.3

Listening to the silence of the night,4

while the insomnia I endure brings such dread.5

From the opened window a gentle breeze touches my face,6

as I stare up at the shroud above me that does loom.7

Suddenly feeling that something is out of place,8

not really sure what it is that I can presume.9

Nothing stirs outside within the eve,10

as a multitude of thoughts race through my mind.11

Feeling I am alone in this world, but I am being naive,12

letting the shroud of my depression make my thoughts so blind.13

This bed that was so warm this fiery passion now so cold,14

and this heart crying out for something so much more.15

Longing once again the warmth of a body to enfold,16

the body of the woman that I so adore.17

But she is far away now in a bed of her own,18

laying her awake thinking of how we made love with such fiery desire.19

The only comfort I had was hearing her voice on the phone,20

knowing to have her lying next to me now is what I truly acquire.21

Oh to let sleep come and take me away,22

so the of her such loving and passionate dreams may come about.23

Enveloped in the dreams of a love that we both know shall forever stay,24

so strong for eternity it will stay throughout.25

Visions of holding her once again within these arms,26

and gazing into the beauty of her eyes of green.27

Enraptured within her loving charms,28

knowing that nothing or no one shall ever intervene.29

But sleep does not come; all I have is her image to hold next to my heart,30

as I wonder if she is sleeping and dreaming of me, the man she loves so much.31

Feeling so alone because we have to be apart,32

as I yearn to feel her loving kiss and gentle touch.33

Some day soon, I know we will be together for all our life,34

and never have to feel the loneliness that consumes us.35

For upon that day my love will be my wife,36

a bond never broken of true love truss.37

Till that time I shall struggle for sleep,38

while in my heart and soul her love I shall forever keep.39
