More than "in love"

First, let me say that being "in love" and having a True Love are two totally different things. What I address here is True Love: 1

Your heart literally is in pain when that person is not in the room giving new meaning to the saying that love hurts. Even if you've been separated from them for a long time (talking months here) your heart does literally ache when you think about them and the only thing that makes it stop is being with them in any form (chat, phone, in person).2

They are the most beautiful thing you've ever seen, even if they don't think they're beautiful. You can't stop staring at them, especially in the eyes, and when you do look at them in the eyes, it's like you're sinking and floating at the same time. The intensity of the eye contact can send you over the edge of sanity.3

When you are holding each other it just feels right, like there is no other place to be in the world and like it's always been that way. You never want to let go, EVER.4

You talk to them all the time, about nothing and about everything, it can be the most boring conversation to those on the outside, but to you it's the most interesting thing ever and you can talk about it for hours on end, plus you're constantly learning something new about them.5

You have no desire to look, talk, fantasize, or any other verb with another person. Even after years of being together, you find there is only one person you want to be around, your friends suffer, your family finds you a stranger, but you are still happy, so very happy, when your loved one smiles and that's the only thing in the world that you want to ever see again and want it to be the last thing you ever see.6

Yes, I have had True Love, and I have felt these things. These are also the most obvious and physical signs that came to mind, but there are things that can not be explained, only felt and you only know them when they happen. There is more, so much more to True Love and the only way to know the difference between it and being "in love" is to experience it. I have also been "in love" and you may feel some of these things in smaller quantity and intensity, it's a little more than infatuation, but not True Love to the extent where you can't live and breathe without that person.7

One more final thing: even if you can't live your life with that other person, if you are separated from them for any reason, even if your heart has been torn out of your chest; if you truly love that person, you still feel these things and so much more. There is nothing I wouldn't do to see that smile again.

    Whoa, that's one of the best entries I've received so far.

    I loved the second, third and fourth one... I don't think I've ever been in love before, but the fourth one was kinda true...

    Everyone says it's boring talking to him the way I do, but to me, it's the most interesting thing.

        You and me both but its so tough right now when i don't even know when i'll hear from Him again. i am getting through my days hyst by keeping my focus on work but when i get home its so tough.
