Class Rebel: Chapter 1 (re-write)

-Chapter One-1

The sound of clattering chairs, and the noisy chatter of happy students echoed throughout the classroom, when the school bell rung signalling the end of class. The class gathered their books and headed towards the door with an air of relief. 2

“A word please Samantha,” the teacher called out just as Samantha thought she had escaped the classroom. 3

“What miss?” Samantha replied in an exasperated voice, closing the classroom door. “I’m going to be late for my next class and I have an exam.”4

Sam didn’t really have an exam. She just didn’t want to stay back. It would be the same as every other day, and was becoming quite a regular routine. The teacher would always go on about how she never pays attention in class, and how she could be achieving at a way higher level then she currently is. She just wasn’t, “achieving to her fullest potential” the teachers believed.5

Samantha was a tall girl with long blonde hair. Her smile and big blue eyes always dazzled people who were passing by her, as her natural beauty would stun them. However, no one really noticed her beauty, all the attention to her was drawn to her very disruptive manner. Sam was always in trouble, it was just in her nature. She was rude to her teachers and showed them no respect whatsoever, and just didn’t care about completing her school work. She was what the students called a ‘rebel’. She despised of the rules the school had in place and completely ignored them, treating them has if they didn’t exist. She would laugh in the teachers face if they yelled at her, or punished her in any kind of form. She loved being the centre of attention. The whole student body absolutely loved her, except for the nerds. They idolised her nerve and courage to do what she wanted.6

They believed she enjoyed her life at school, and thought she was happy. But Sam was quite a good actor. Better then most people believed her to be. Everyone saw her beautiful, perfect smile. But no one could see past that smile and see deep down inside her, which revealed the awful pain that was slowly building up inside of her, as she continued to act as if there was nothing wrong. Not ever did one single person notice. 7

“Okay then. But make sure you see me straight after your exam at lunchtime. Understand? Or it will be an after school detention,” the teacher finally replied giving up on her. 8

“Yeh, sure, whatever.” Sam replied, as she left the sunlit clasroom feeling fairly proud of her efforts of ecscaping yet another long, pointless lecture. The school was becoming fairly deserted now as most students were already in their next class. Only a few people were left in the corridors gathering books. Sam walked empty handed into her English class. Her teacher, Ms Downey stopped speaking as her presence filled the room. 9

“You’re late again!” She muttered angrily, emphasising the word again. “And where are your books for gods sake. How do you expect to do any work without them?”10

The class fell silent, and was watching curiously at the conversation occurring between them . They were all trying to hide back their laughter, although some were not succeeding to well at it. The class could sence a good argument was about to happen, and some entertainment to lighten up the lesson. 11

“STOP LAUGHING AT MY DISCPLINE!” Ms Downey yelled at the class, articulating every word. This just made everyone laugh even harder. 12

“So what if im a bit late. Its not like I would learn anything off you anyway. You seriously just cant teach. Has anyone actually ever learnt anything off you?”. Samantha turned her back on her, and sat down at her desk right at the back of the classroom. In most classes, Samantha was made to sit at the back of the room. This way she wouldnt be able to turn around and talk to other people, and the teacher wouldnt have to put up with her. 13

Ms Downey opened her mouth to retaliate but decided not to. All Samantha’s teachers were given particular instructions to ignore her rudeness and unacceptable behaviour. Ms Downey continued on teaching her students as if there was never a distraction. 14

“Oi Hayley,” Samantha said in aloud whispered that carried around throughout the classroom to the girl next to her. “Dare me to fling this rubber band at her back?”.15

The girl nodded at her with a small smirk beginning to form on her face. At this gesture, Samantha raised her hands in the air, pulling the rubber band back to its full extent, letting go, allowing it to soar smoothey across the silent classroom, finding its target on the centre of Mrs Downeys back. 16

“Samantha Horan! That is it!,” Ms Downey screamed at Sam across the room. “I have had enough of you and your behaviour. I can’t even teach my class for five minutes without you distracting someone, or you calling out, or doing something utterly stupid. I have tried everything on you to sort out your behaviour problems. I have rung your parents and given you detentions, but it seems to have absolutely no effect on you whatsoever!” 17

“Jeez Miss, has anyone ever told you that you look like a witch when you’re angry,” She replied smirking, completely aware of the consequences of her smart comment.18

She looked as if she were about to explode. She went all rigid, her hair stood up at the back, her hands started trembling, and she opened her mouth and bellowed, the loudest any teacher has ever yelled at Sam. “GET OUT! Get out of my class now, don’t ever come back Samantha Horan, do you hear me? Out!” 19

“Okay, sure miss, catch you later”.20

Samantha jumped out of her seat, and left the room with her head high in the air with proud. She was always sent out of class, but never had a teacher gone off at her this much, and actually threatened her never to return. 21

As Samantha walked around the school, someone marched towards her. “My office, now,” said Mrs. Odonna, the school's deputy principal. Sam decided to obey. If she didn’t it would only make things worse. She dragged her legs through the familiar staff room, and entered her office. She had been in her office so many times; it felt like home to her. 22

She sat down in front of Samantha, glaring her small dark eyes into her big blue ones. She did this for at least three minutes before she opened her mouth to speak. However the tone she spoke in totally shocked Sam. She thought it would be angry at the very least, however it was soft and gentle, something you didn’t hear often come out of her mouth.23

“Samantha, I don’t know what happened to you. I remember when you were a little kid, you never got into trouble. You were a straight A student, who handed in some of the loveliest and most beautiful things that I have ever read. I know you have been through some tough situations in the past year, but that shouldn’t change who you are.”24

Samantha suddenly became furious. Her face started turning red, and gave her the evilist look. ‘Mrs. Odonna had no right at all to talk about my private life to me’ thought Samantha. she hated her for knowing her darkest secret. Last year, her dad lost his job at work, and things got a bit out of hand at home. He used to drink heaps of alcohol to hide his grief. It wasn’t too bad at the start, but as the weeks and months gradually went by, it was a whole lot worse. It got to the point she was too terrified to even show her face in the house. Sam spent every night crying herself to sleep, but even then, she had to shove something in her mouth to mute her cries. It was horrible. Finally the day came, when her mom had enough of it, she called the police, and they took him away for abuse.25

Samantha suddenly snapped back to reality. She had only just realized she was day dreaming, and that Mrs. Odonna had been talking to her for the last five minutes. She seemed to know sam was not listening. “Are you even listening to me Samantha?”26

“Not really, your voice bores me,” she replied, shrugging her shoulders. 27

She didn’t reply to this, but immediately stood and up and shut the door. Sitting down again she looked at Sam and said, “I hoped it would never come to this point, but it seems I have no choice. You don’t listen to your teachers, your mother and especially me. I don’t think I have ever had so many complaints about a student before. I’m sorry to tell you, but I can’t have you disrupt my school again. I’m expelling you.”28

Samantha’s mind froze. Millions of different thoughts went through her mind. Expulsion had never actually crossed her mind. She thought she would suspend her at the very least. She was actually surprised that this piece of news didn’t worry her at all. She hated this school; She would be happy leaving. 29

“Go pack your things up, while I ring your mother, and then come straight back here. None of your usual wanders over to shops,” Mrs. Odonna ordered.30

Sam jumped to her feet. Her heart was actually racing now. she was leaving this hell hole once and for all. She practically ran up the stairs to her classroom, didn’t bother knocking, and entered. 31

“Didn’t I tell you I did not want you back in this class ever again!” screamed Mrs. Downey .32

“Jeez, calm down, I’m just grabbing my stuff then leaving. You got your wish; I got expelled. Now I don’t have to ever see you and your ridiculous hair cut ever again.” Sam said, stomping out of the class. She heard the class crack up laughing, and then eventually fade away as she reached the bottom of the stairs. 33

Sam walked to the office and waited. She was told her mother was on the way. She leaned up against the wall thinking of her reaction. Would she be angry? Disappointed? Sad? Whatever it was, she was not really looking forward to it. No matter how much she got in trouble at school, she never really cared. But home was a totally different situation. She hated getting in trouble, mainly because she didn’t want mom to get all angry and depressed. She loved her too much to do that to her. 34

She finally saw her mom park the car and get out. She walked over to Sam, and just shook her head. Her face was full of disappointment. Sam felt so bad. She didn’t say anything except beckon her to the car. she didn’t want to get in, but she did. 35

when (maybe swtich it to as, when makes the sentance sound weird.)the school bell rung signalling the end of class.

She despised (all)of the rules the school had in place and completely ignored them

Pr(Or) it will be an after school detention.

articulation (re tense thatword to fit the sentance, I'm not so good inthe spelling department so can't help you, sorry.) every word.

    You seriously just cant teacher(teach).

Ms Downey continued on teacher (teaching) her students as if there was never a distraction.

left the room with her head high in the air with proud(pride).

I think I like this one better. I find it weird that the speaker memorizes the exact lines on what a person said. But still, I write those kind of stories XD
