Kingdom Hearts Three-Chapter One: The Letter

"Sora, just tell me what it says!" Kairi urged. Her red hair blew with the soft ocean breeze.1

"Hold on, wait until I'm done!"Sora said, keeping his focus on the words. Riku stood by, silent and patient as ever.2

'Dear Sora,3

I'm sorry if this letter got to you late. This is urgent. There is a new lethal organization of Nobodies rising, calling themselves Arcana. They have sent some members undercover at your school, not only for vengeance, but to find the Nex as well. The Nex is an ancient, mystical being who can resurrect the dead. I suspect they plan on bringing back Organization XIII and taking over all the worlds, plunging them into eternal darkness. Please keep a look out for suspicious characters.4

"Well?"Kairi asked impatiently. He stared into her blue eyes and handed her the letter. He gave Riku permission to read it as well.7

"Oh my God,"she breathed.8

"Arcana... that sounds familiar,"Riku cocked his head to one side.9

"Latin?"10

"Maybe. I dunno. I'll think later."11

"But right now,"Sora put the stopper back on the bottle,"We need a plan. First off, how do we recognize them?"12

"There are a lot of new students coming."13

"But they all have X's in their names, right?"Kairi said, confident. Sora smiled back. She always had the most perfect smile.'She's so cute when she's sure,'he thought, blushing a little.14

"Yeah,"he managed to say,"And they always have weird hair or markings. Like Demyx and his mullet."15

'And Axel with those things under his eyes,' Roxas said inside him. Ever since the day he returned to Sora, he'd always been in his head.'I bet I could help you.'16

'Not now Roxas,' Sora thought back,'They don't know about you.'17

'Whatever.'18

"Sora? You okay?" Riku asked,"You seem dazed."19

"Nah, I'm good,"Sora grinned.20

"Alright then, next item of order: how to get rid of them."21

"Easy!"he summoned his Keyblade. There was a glow, then the old, trusty Kingdom Keeper appeared in his palm,"Just like last time."22

"Yeah, well, do you know how many there are?"23

"Er--"24

"How strong they are?"25

"Uh--"26

"What their intelligence level is?"27

"Well--"28

"What--"29

"Okay, I get it! Jeez."30

"So what?"31

"Let's make it up as we go."32

"Sora, are you kidding?"Kairi crossed her arms.33

"Well, it always worked out for Captain Jack,"he laughed. Risky, but successful, he remembered Jack telling him once, That's the way to go.34

"That's it!"Riku said,"Sora, you're a genius!"35

"Really?"36

"We need Jack! And the others! Allies, man!"37

"I guess,"he agreed,"Kairi?"38

"Yeah! I've always wanted to meet your friends. And that Aerith you always talked about,"she winked, making him gulp.39

"Heh. Anyway, time to get to business!" Sora gripped the letter.40
