Flame Of God

"Heavenly father...Please help papa get better...I know you have alot of people to take care of in the world...But when you get the chance, could you please look after him?"2

The little girl knelt in the isle of the empty church. Sunlight shone through the windows and reflected off the specks of dust floating in the air.3

Her hair was a perfect blond that stretched all the way to her waist. Doves cooed in the rafters as she prayed.4

A board creaked. Quickly she turned around and looked. The room was empty. The candles on the alter flickered. Anna glanced up at the statue of Jesus with it's arms stretched towards her.5

Giving a sigh of relief she closed her eyes in prayer. "Our father...Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name..."6

It hit her in a flash. Everything in her world faded to black. Rai watched the girl collapse forward, bleeding slightly from the back of her head. He smiled a little.7

"Thy kingdom come, thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven."8

He stepped over the girl and walked to the front doors. Once outside he looked around the area. The sun was bright. He shielded his eyes and scouted for people. It was a Tuesday so he didn't really expect to see anyone so far out of town.9

"Brilliant" He snickered as he darted behind the bushes to grab two red plastic cans from behind them.10

Anna woke up with an awful pain in her head. She looked up and attempted to straighten her vision. She saw a boy walking around the inside of the church. Dumping something on the pews, all over the floor and windows...12

She steadily lifted herself up. The room spun in every direction. Suddenly the boy was in front of her. He pulled her arm and dropped necklace into her hands. It was a beautiful pink rock wrapped in metal.13

He started to walk away. As he began walking Anna saw them. The two red gas cans sitting in the corner of the room. Panic washed over her as she had her realization.14

Rai stood by the alter and looked back at her as she struggled to get to her feet. He sighed lightly and with a swipe of his hand knocked the candles to the floor.18

The room erupted. Anna jumped to her feet the best she could and ran. Rai shut the door as he reached the outside. Then locked it tightly. He could feel the thumping of her fists on the wood of the door.22

In a panic she looked around the church. It was flames from one end to the other. Anna wiped her dirt covered hands over her forehead. It was getting hot in here fast.30

Rai was walking steadily along the path. Things were quiet now. He didn't hear Anna screaming anymore. All he could hear was the fire licking around the roof and windows.42

The noise was so loud that it hurt Rai's ears. The full gas can had finally been touched by flames. When he glanced behind him he say the flames falling from the sky and very little of what use to be the church along the creek. He stood in awe at the flames. Beautiful destruction... He thought to himself. 54
