Cuddling the little lost white kitten to my chest, I realized I just couldn’t leave her here in the middle of the alley. I glanced around for an owner or a mommy cat, but nothing was in sight. Sighing, I got to my feet, gripping the kitten tighter. I looked at her and she stared back so intensely it was like she was staring into my soul. I gazed back and realized she was like me, lost in a world that she didn’t know.
“I’ll take care of you. I promise,” I whispered. And I would. We have each other.

Very well written. You managed to create a beginning, middle, and end with very few words- nice.

Awww, I loved this.
It was great and sweet and the last few lines just made me go gaga.
It reminds me of the time I found a helpless little ird in my garden, and my dad and family took care of it for a month before it was able to fly again.
Thanks so much for this sweet little entry in my contest and good luck!
P.S. You're a finalist.
