~ The only thing she ever really wanted for Christmas, was to be a normal kid again.1
Living with her uncle never really made her feel at home. Or welcome. She never got anything, except for a beating.2
She was always left to rummage through the trash for her dinner, while her guardian was at home feating on a beautiful dinner with his wife and kids. 3
~ One day, (or should I say night) I saw her walking home. Lonely, cold, and afraid. Her clothes were torn, she was bleeding from head to toe. I couldn't help but feel bad for her.4
~ I had stopped her while she was walking down the street, I brought her out a jacket I had worn before I got my new one. She looked at me and smiled. I asked her if she wanted to come and stay the night at my house, she shook her head and kept walking. But motioned me to follow. So, I ran after her, and walked with her. 5
~ She stopped infront of the house she lived at, and looked me. My mouth had dropped. I knew that house, I knew the people that lived in it. They were so horrible to their children. This girl didn't say a word to me, she just ran inside. All I could hear were screams coming from upstairs. This poor girl, I had to do something. 6
~ I walked up to the door step, and rang the bell. I heard a loud bang as something had fallen down the stairs. The little girl came bolting out of the house, with a suitcase in one hand and a backpack in the other... I figured she was running away so I tripped the man who came chasing out the door and ran after her.7
~ I caught her half way down the street after turning a few corners. I told her to come stay with me and my family, and so she gracefull accepted and followed me down the street. I had questioned her a few times about her Life. She just handed me her Diary and motioned me to read it. 8
~ When I came in the door, my parents had asked me why she was with me, I told them the story that I had read in her diary, and after watching my mom sob for a few minutes, they agreed to let her stay until she was capable of getting around on her own.9
~ It was definately different having someone around the house. This girl never spoke. It was almost as if she wasn't capable of it. But I heard her cough. I mean, that must be a sign of existance right?10
~ Monday came, and I was getting ready for school. Thankfully this girl had went to my school, I had pondered why I didn't see her around the playground at lunch, or in the halls before classes. She didn't have too much of a response.11
~ We had went to school that day, and everyone just stared at me, as we walked into the school together. I was questioned a few times about her...People didn't know whether she was a real girl, or just an alien. Trust me, she was real.12
~ My friends and I had invited her to sit with us at lunch.(Boy, she fit in fast.)The boys, just...Well, they loved her. She loved them as well, the moment she had layed eyes on Markus, she was inlove. I could tell from her eyes.13
~ Markus is in my grade(8), he loved sports, yet...He was very quiet, very shy. Didn't talk much, and had only the group as his friends. But he was an awesome guy when you got to know him. He was talented. He wrote, sang, played instruments. He was amazing! No wonder this girl loved him so much.14
~ Markus and this girl became so close...Although, they never talked. They still found to have much in common. You can tell they understood eachother. They communicated just by looking into eachothers eyes.15
~ Christmas was coming by quickly, and this girl was really hittin it off with Markus. There was only one problem.16
~ Her father.17
~ About a week before Christmas, I had heard a knock on the front door. I looked out my window, saw flashing lights and 3 police cars. I knew it had something to do with this girl. So, I told her to stay in my room. And not come out unless the police when up and got her.18
~ I ran downstairs, and answered the door. Keeping cool, I nodded for the officer to come in. He questioned me quietly. 19
Nodding his head every time I said something, he knew I was telling the truth. He didn't doubt a word just by looking at the man standing next him's face. I told the officer everything I had read, and even showed him this girls diary. He almost started crying. 20
~ A few minutes later, the girl came downstairs, and as soon as the evil man saw her. He took after her. Luckily, he was stopped. The girl stood there in tears, trembling. She looked up at her uncle, and opened her mouth.21
~ "You...You took my life away, 13 years of hell. You murdered my father, sent my mother to a mental institution. Just so you can get your hands on your 'precious little neice.' You are the reason, I left. Aunt Valerie loved me. She took care of me. All you can do was beat me. And now...NOW, I'm gone. I'm happy. I'm living here until I can get around on my own. You never loved me. All you cared about was me being in pain. I love living here, I've found a boy that I Love." ...With those last 7 words. She stopped. 22
~ My mouth dropped. She loved him? Who would've thought.23
~ Her uncle stood there... Watching her talk. He slowly stepped away from the officer. And stood back.24
~ Continuing. "Never wanting to leave in the first place, I had to. I've learned so much here. They considered me family. I never talked. I never talked to anybody for 3 years, until now. I never talked, because I was afraid if I said the wrong thing. I would get beaten down. But now, you show up here, expecting the police to take me away and bring me back with YOU!?"25
~ The officer had but in for a second, and started to speak. "After reading this diary, and hearing what this girl has to say to you. You are no longer alowed NEAR this house, or her." The officer cuffed her Uncle and slowly headed for the door...Before being stopped by this girl again.26
~ "Never in my life, have I been treated so unfairly. I..." She stopped...Looking around, wondering if she should continue "...Jacqueline Marie Scotts, must thank you though, for your beatings. I learned that, in order to make it through this world. You have to stay strong" She stopped.27
~ The police nodded and lef the house immediately.I hugged this girl tightly, and told her that her words were strong. She smiled, I smiled back. And we hugged again.28
~ As Christmas approached, this girl had really felt that she learned alot. Her and Markus were learning alot more about eachother, now that she knew it wasn't a horrible thing to talk.29
~ Christmas Morning came, and this girl wasn't expecting a present at all...She came downstairs and layed on the couch until everyone else had came downstairs. I walked down the stairs, and saw her sleep. I smiled deeply, and went and made breakfast for her. When I had woken her up and gave her a hot bowl of porridge, she smiled and said "thank you." I replied back with a "Your welcome" and we both began to eat. 30
~ My parents came downstairs, and told us to start opening presents. This girl sighed a deep sigh, and looked at the Christmas Tree. Until, I handed her a box with her name on it. She looked at me with tears in her eyes, and opened it.31
Inside this box, she had recieved a brand new journal, with her name on the side. She looked at me, then at my parents. Smiled, and said "thank you"32

Author notes
It's not about me, and it's not a relation to me... I've been working on it for a while now. I guess I just really needed to work on something depressing...It ended happy... but it made me cry just writing it. enjoy!

This was nifty..I remember reading a story my friend Kim wrote that was just like this, except the story was like one of those journal entry things. I really liked this storyish thing. really neat.
This touched me..Which in all actuallity isn't hard, but when it's something that's like this is even easier..I hate anyone that has the nerve to do something like that to someone. Anyone..It's just sickening.
Great job rock on.
